  • 140kg man sues jail over losing weight


    People are spending thousands to loose extra weight but this overweight guy is not happy in loosing his weight.

    Broderick Lloyd Laswell, jailed for fatally beating and stabbing a man, then setting his home on fire; is not so happy in loosing weight. He is waiting a murder trail in Arkansas. He huge guy was 187 kg when he was jailed 8 months back. Thanks to the jail menu he is now 47 kgs lighter at 140kg. He has filed a federal lawsuit complaining the jail doesn’t provide inmates with enough food.

    “If we are in a small pod all day (and) do next to nothing for physical exercise, we should not lose weight,” the suit says. “The only reason we lost weight in here is because we are literally being starved to death.” (metro)

  • Nepali artist created longest painting in shortest time


    longest art dharaharaWith an aim to set a new world record for the longest illustration, a noted Nepali artist has created a 130-metre-long acrylic painting, taking less than 13 hours for the job.

    Kiran Manandhar, 51, created the painting titled `Abako Nepal` or the `Nepal of today` on April 25, 2008 at the 190-year-old structure `Dharahara`, known as the tallest monument of Nepal.

    Hundreds of art lovers witnessed the event as the artist painted his creation on a 130-metre-long and 72-inch-wide canvas that hung from the 62-metre-high `Dharahara`, amid rendition of poetry and music by artists of a cultural centre.

    Kiran, who has received his Master of Painting degree from Benaras Hindu University in India, claims to have broken the record set by a Filippino artist, who had completed a 100-metre-long painting in a day.

    According to Jibesh Rayamajhi of Gurukul, Manandhar’s painting was done from a height of 203 feet and was initially expected to be 100 meters long, but on completion the artist had painted nearly 123.5 meters on a 125-meter canvas.

    Actress Megan Fox, 21, was named the world’s sexiest woman by FHM Online’s annual online poll. Fox, actress in last year’s hit movie “Transformers”, grabbed the title from last year’s sexiest women Jessica Alba, who dropped to No. 3 in the 2008 list of 100 Sexiest Women in the World.

    Fox debuted on the list at No. 68 in 2006 and was ranked No. 65 last year. Before the sucess of movie she was best known for her roles on the television series “Hope & Faith”.

  • Chain-snatcher jumps into jail!


    Police in Kurnool, rural area of Andhra Pradesh, Southern India, caught a man when he was trying to snatch a gold chain from a woman on the outskirts of the town. The thief at first tried to play mischief by telling a sob-story to the policemen about his ailing mother. The plea fell on deaf ears.

    The thief, kept in the rural police station premises, thought of a better way to escape the police. When he got chance he climbed atop a huge tree inside the police station compound and jumped from the tree to the other side of the compound. Read the rest of this entry »

  • Tallest girl in Nepal ?


    Average height of Nepali male is 5’4″ and women are usually shorter than their opposite sex.

    But a girl from Siraha, Urmila Kumari Chaudhari, 17, is 80 kg in weight and 7′ 1″ tall. The height has caused a lot of problem in her day-to-day life.

    It is not official but she might be the tallest girl in Nepal.

  • Seven-colored snake found in Nepal


    In Nepal, people worship anything strange. As a latest example, people have started worshiping a strange snake that changes color.

    Thousands of people have been thronging Chapaghar area of Tanahu district in western Nepal to see a strange seven-colored snake found in a well there, the National News Agency RSS reported on Saturday.

    According to the RSS, the snake was first seen by a local people. Since then thousands of people have seen the snake. A local Kum Bahadur Thapa said 1,000 people visit the area daily to see the snake.

    Another local Jagat Raj Khanal said the snake has already changed four colors. Locals meanwhile have started worshiping the snake by making an idol of the snake near the well. They have also placed a donation box at the place to collect funds to construct a temple there. (source)


  • Ever heard of girl emiting ‘glass pieces’ from forehead?


    12 yr. girl from nepal There was a news about a girl from western Nepal emitting “glass pieces” from forehead in Rising Nepal. But after that no news has appeared about the mysterious 12-year-old girl of Tikapur Municipality-9. Kantipur also covered the news and journalists in Nepal don’t care to follow-up their stories. I wish they could update the news.

    It was told that Sarita’s parents had already spent over Rs. 300,000 for her treatment but to no avail. I don’t know if she was cured or is she still has the glass problem. Doctors thought the glass pieces come out of a bone. But they were not much sure on what was causing this strange thing.

    The news was published on September 23, 2006 and it was told that she had started producing triangular glass pieces everyday since August 7 of that year.
