marriageLife is not that easy! If you don’t agree ask Ramchandra Katuwal, 49, from of Khandbari-11, Nepal.

He married for the first time at the age of 26 but his wife eloped shortly following which he married again. The process continued unabated until he married his 25th wife.

That was a marathon 25 marriages until he finally meet his soul mate, bringing an end to his 23-year-long spree. Thanks to his latest wife Sharada with whom he is living in a seven-year-old wedlock, he has no intention of remarrying again.

  • Can only happen in Nepal

Being a Nepali I am proud of the uniqueness of Nepali landscape, culture, and living style. It’s not true that all the uniqueness are fit to celebrate upon, but we have lived through them and we sort of like their aura. One member in the forum has posted some such photos from Nepal.

  • US credit card defaults good for India

Declining fortunes of the US and the UK consumer are proving to be a boon for India’s outsourcing industry. Companies in India are increasing the size of debt collection and recovery units to handle the increased demand.

Firstsource, an Indian business process outsourcing company that handles credit recovery for most of the top five US banks and half of the top 10 credit card issuers, said it was increasing staff numbers to win business from growing credit card defaults in both national markets. (FT)

Ananda Mukerji, Firstsource chief executive, is quoted as saying that he is willing to add 100 more people overnight to meet the increasing demand for that service.

Thanks to the rising unemployment, and higher food and fuel prices overdue accounts at the six large US credit card issuers increased in June. The worst affected issuer in June was American Express with loans overdue by 30 days rising by 16 basis points to 3.21 per cent.

Outsourcing companies usually deal with accounts that are 90-180 days overdue. The post-360 days overdue work, which often involves legal action against defaulters, is normally performed by agencies with a greater local presence.

  • Beijing Olympic 2008 – Much Ado About Nepali Flag

    Nepal Flag

I argued about Nepali Flag to be one of the top flag design owing to its uniqueness and beauty. But not only the Yard Flags think otherwise, the Chinese Olympic committee was unsure on what to make up of the unique flag. They had to call a professor in vexillology to assurance that the flag of Nepal meets the requirements for this international event and is in fact a proper flag!

After all, according to a high Chinese official, the flag ‘looks a little unusual, it has a tattered look, ripped so to say.’ Also no one is sure which way is up. (fdrnepal)

It was nice to see the flag being carried in the opening ceremony of the Olympic 2008 arena. I wish good luck to the eight member Nepali player team for medal in the games. Have nothing to say for the unnecessary, irrelevant, scandalous 28 member official team (About the team in Nepali language blog).

  • Paris Hilton for president – spoof ad

Paris Hilton wants to paint the White House pink if elected. She was declaring her desire to campaign against “that wrinkly white-haired guy” referring to the Republican candidate John McCain. That was in fact response to the controversial use of her image in a campaign television spot last week. The ad compared Democratic rival Barack Obama to Hilton and Britney Spears, suggesting Obama was no more than a celebrity candidate unready to lead the nation.

Here is her video ad by Paris Hilton posted in funnyordie.com.

“Hey America, I’m Paris Hilton and I’m a celebrity too. Only I’m not from the olden days and I’m not promising change like that other guy. I’m just hot!

“But then that wrinkly white-haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means I’m running for president. So thanks for the endorsement white-haired dude, and I want America to know I’m, like, totally ready to lead.”

McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds said Hilton appears to support his candidate’s “all of the above” energy solution (AP).
