Black Hole conference in Kathmandu

An international conference on "Accretion and Outflow in Black Hole Systems" is going to be held in Kathmandu starting October 11 2010. The conference will finish on October 15. The conference deals with the understanding of the process of accretion onto the central black hole and outflows from the system (including the jet formation) in BH binaries, AGNs and GRBs.

More than 130 professor/scientist/research student participants from India, Iceland, Italy, USA, France, Napoli, Germany, Chile, UK, Iran, Poland, The Netherlands, Pakistan, Czech Republic, Israel, Japan, Russia, Spain, South Afr
ica, and China will gather in Kathmandu for the conference. There will be a total of 62 oral presentations and 39 poster presentation in the conference.

The conference is jointly organized by the Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF), the Osservatorio Astronomico of Roma (INAF/OAR), the Italian Space Agency and its Data Center (ASI/ADSC), the Istituto di Astrofisica Spaziale e Fisica Cosmica (INAF/IASF Bologna), the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (Warsaw), and the Central Department of Physics (CDP) of Tribhuvan University (Kathmandu).

Laxman Tharu, the FDNF chairman, caught with prostitute

Laxman Tharu,  the chairman of Federal Democratic National Forum (FDNF), was arrested when the police raided Shree Ganesh Guest House at Bagbazaar and found him sleeping with a prostitute.

The raid was part of a surprise raid carried out by a special task force of Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka in an effort to curb prostitution and other illegal activities in Kathmandu. The police have also Parbati Puri (34), the owner of the guest house and the 20-year-old prostitute, the employee of the guest house.

Tharu was active as a Maoist during the people’s war until the party decided to start peaceful politics.

Google tests robot car (video)

A secret project at Google involves cars with technology to help them to "drive themselves."

It it’s blog post, Google says that its goal is, "to help prevent traffic accidents, free up people’s time and reduce carbon emissions by fundamentally changing car use." The Google cars have reportedly driven more than 140,000 miles with the help of video cameras, radar sensors and a laser range finder to cruise through the traffic.

Poojana Pradhan's bikini photos removed

After the threat to sue the modeling website cybersansar.com, model turned actress Poojana Pradhan’s photos were removed from the website. Poojana has told that the website is misusing the photos.

The photos in question were shot in bikini in the banks of Narayani river. The hot photos are considered to be the ones that established her in the modeling and eventually as an actress. While talking about the signature photos she told that – they were good enough to start with but now, as a established actress she can’t afford to have such bikini clad photos around.
