In an effort to lock down the Film Development Board (FDB), the police has arrested 30 film artists on Thursday, January 17. When the police removed the lock the protesting film artists installed on January 9, they had gathered up at the FDB office to lock it down again.

Film artists are protesting against the government for refusing to honor the agreement they reached in December.

They had chanted slogans and expressed their dissatisfaction over the government’s irresponsibility.

During the clash with the police, director Suresh Darpan Pokharel and actor Mukesh Dhakal were manhandled. The police arrested some 30 protesting artists including actress Karishma Manandhar, actress Richa Singh Thakuri, and actress Sumina Ghimire.
