Actress Shilpa Pokharel has debuted as a producer under Chhabiraj Production banner. The next movie of Chhabi Raj Ojha is titled ‘Mangalam’ and is presented by the actress of the movie, Shilpa Pokarel. Shilpa is also named the executive producer of the movie. The movie was inaugurated in an event held at Ganesh mandir in Kamaladi and Maitidevi Mandir.

In the inauguration ceremony, the cast and the crew of the movie were present. The movie led by Shilpa Pokharel will also featured Puspal Khadka and Prithivi Raj Prasai in leading role. The shooting of the movie will start on Magh 7 at various locations in Kathmandu.
According to the producer Pokharel, all of the shooting of the movie will be done in Kathmandu. The movie team will go out of the valley for the shooting of a song in the movie.
Nepali superstar Rajesh Hamal was in Salyan for a cultural program on Janauary 16, 2017. In the event held in Sreenagar, Salyan, Rajesh Hamal was the chief guest and the main attraction. In the stage, Rajesh told that it was his first visit to Salyan was impressed by the warm welcome he received there. For the entertainment of the public, he also told some of his popular dialogues and danced to the songs by other singers on the stage.

It was a fun event. People enjoyed Rajesh Hamal’s presence. But, it seems Hamal is ignoring the field that introduced him to those people – films. He has stopped signing new movies after marrying Madhu Bhattarai. A few movies he did after marriage were not successful either. There is no news of any new movies of Rajesh Hamal.
After being accused and arrested by the police, one of the four suspects, Krishna Subedi, was released on bail. But, he later committed suicide accusing it being a murder. In social network, Deepak Raj Giri was accused of being the cause of death. In response, Deepak Raj Giri, has asked the police to do an investigation and find the truth and has asked everybody to believe that he is innocent. A video report on what Deepak had to say:
In a very sad news, Nepali popular rapper Yama Buddha was found in his London home. The 29 years old Anil Adhikari, popularly known as Yama Buddha, was one of the most famous celebrity in Nepal.
I am extra sad because, few hours before his death, I was making a video about him. In the list of top 10 Facebook celebrities, Yama Buddha was the only male Nepali celebrity. All others were female celebrities. I uploaded the video in YouTube (watch the video at the end of this post) went to the bed. I woke up to the news that the same Yama Buddha had committed suicide. I am really sad and I was literally crying while making the video above. I don’t want to write more here. I will try to update this post later.

After returning back from the UK and the USA, it was Priyanka Karki’s first public function in a couple of months in Nepal. She went to the premier of Keki Adhikari’s new movie ‘Love Sasha’ on January 10 in a revealing dress although the weather wasn’t that much suitable for such type of dresses. The black dress was open on the front and the photographers were able to capture some cleavage of the actress while she was adjusting the hem.

Priyanka’s pose with the co-actor of her upcoming movie ‘Happy Days’ Sanjay Gupta was also the talk of the evening. They had shown their intimate relationship during the photo shot. Priyanka and Sanjay were in UK for the shooting of ‘Happy Days’ a while ago. The movie also features Dayahang Rai. After the completion of the shooting in the UK, Priyanka had gone to the USA for a short trip and returned back to Nepal a few days back.
The actress who debuted in Alok Nembang’s last movie ‘Ajhai Pani’, Surakshya Panta has decided to return back to acting. After a few years of absence the civil engineer actress has completed the shooting of ‘Suskera’ and is preparing herself for another movie titled ‘Dhanapati’.
The movie ‘Dhanapati’ is being produced by the team that produced superhit movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’. The movie featuring Khagendra Lamichhane in leading role with feature Surakshya opposite to Khagendra and will be directed by Dipendra K Khanal. Rajesh Hamal was chosen to be the artist of January, 2017. In the Twitter poll I posted in my account, Rajesh Hamal received 55% votes. The second place went to Rekha Thapa with just 19% votes. The third place winner Karishma Manandhar got 15% and the last was Anmol KC with 11% votes.
I will be preparing videos on the artist of the month – at least one video every week. That is the minimum limit but, there is no upper limit. So, I can make as much video on Rajesh Hamal as I want in January. By the end of the month I will start another poll to chose the artist of the next month.

Celebrity Fashion Show De’ Celebrity Runway 2016 – Walking Down the Memory Lane, was jointly organized by Punam Entertainment and Gauri Malla in collaboration with World Fashion Parade. The fashion event held on 29th December 2016 at Hotel Annapurna, Kathmandu marks on of the most diverse fashion show event in Nepal featuring three generations of artists of Nepali movie industry.
One of the most notable model on the ramp was the first actress of the Nepali movie industry, Bhuwan Chand. In addition to Bhuwan Chand first generation actresses like Chaitanya Devi and Basundhara Bhusal had also walked on the ramp. While modelling, the songs from their respective movies were played in the background.
In a surprising tragic incident, the senior actor popularly known as ‘Yo My Love’ for his role in popular comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’ had died. The actor was performing in a theatre play at the time of his death. Mid-way in the play, he had suddenly died in the evening of January 3, 2017, Tuesday in Rastriya Naachghar, Jamal, Kathmandu.
The 80-years old actor is the second actor of ‘Tito Satya’ who has died in a month. Last month, another comedy actor popularly known as Ladalam, RP Bhattarai had died. They both have died of heart failure.
Starting the year 2017, I have decided to feature the artist of the month. For the whole month I will be focused on one particular artist while preparing videos, news and movies.
To choose which artist to feature for the month, I am going to post a poll in Twitter. For the month of January I have posted a poll in Twitter with four options:

At the time of this writing, Rajesh Hamal is leading. Most probably Rajesh Hamal is going to be the artist of the month of January 2016. For the first time in the history of Nepali film industry, a film that won the Best Movie Award, has returned back the award to the organizer. In the NEFTA 2016 award held in Dubai, UAE, ‘Pashupati Prasad’ was awarded the Best Film Award. But, when the Best Director award was handed over to another movie, the director Dipendra K Khanal refused to go to the stage to receive the award.
Which is the Best Film of 2016?
According to a report, Dipendra K Khanal took the award to the NEFTA office on December 27, 2016 and returned it. That was probably the first time any award was returned back to the organizer. Now, the confusion on which is the Best Film in the NEFTA 2016.
It seems, the Christian festival Christmas is going mainstream in Hindu pre-dominant Nepal. After the country decided to go secular, the popularity of the foreign festivals are in increase. It is not only Christmas, other festivals like Halloween, are also getting popular these days.

‘Dreams’ debut actress, Samragyee RL Shah, flaunted a revealing and transparent dress at the NEFTA 2016 award ceremony. In the event Samragyee was also awarded the Best Newcomer Actress for her role in ‘Drema’. It was not only NEFTA, Samragyee was the sole winner of that award in most of the award ceremony held earlier in the year.

The 9th edition of NEFTA Awards was held at Dubai, UAE on December 23, 2016. A lot of Nepali artists attended the grand ceremony featuring performances of a lot of artists including Rajesh Hamal and Karishma Manandhar.
The dancers in the program were Karishma Mamandhar, Pooja Sharma, Chhulthim Gurung, Malina Joshi, Rista Basnet, Samragyee RL Shah, Namrata Sapkota, Jebina Karki. The male dancers were Rajesh Hamal, Anupbikram Shahi, Paul Shah, Najir Hussain, Salon Basnet, and Roshit Rumba.

The comedy actor, RP Bhattarai, popularly known as Lajalam after his character in ‘Tito Satya’, had died on December 9, 2016. On the 12th day of his death, Nepali artists gathered at Pragya Bhawan to pay tribute to him. At the program, various artists talked about Bhattarai and remembered the time they had spent with him. During the event, Deepa Shree Niraula cried and remembered how she used to scold RP Bhattarai. She wished she hadn’t scolded him that much. She remembered how helpful he used to be and how she suggested him not to eat much.
Ma of MaHa comedy duo, Madan Krishna Shrestha, also expressed his sadness on the untimely demise of one of the popular comedy actors. RP’s friend Narad Khatiwada also remembered the fun time he used to have with Lajalam. He also told some jokes but it was not a funny event to laugh at jokes.
