‘I AM’ screened in Kathmandu

A film by Onir, I AM, was screened in the Rastriya Nach Ghar on Sunday, June 5, 2011. The movie financed by the users of social networking sites, has some 400 financers from 46 countries.

The film stars Nandita Das, Purab Kholi, Manisha Koirala, Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Suri and Rahul Bose in different stories including – I Am Afia, I Am Megha, I am Abhimanyu, and I Am Omar.

Afia (played by Nandita Das) is a single woman looking for a sperm donor, Megha (played by Juhi Chawla), a Kashmiri Pandit girl with a horrible past. Abhimanyu (Sanjay Suri) has a story to tell about child molestation and Omar has a story to tell about sexual discrimination.

The movie is also planned to be screened again on Monday, June 6 in Gurukul Theater, Old Baneswor.
