Story:

Saathi ma timro is a story of a son Avisekh K.C (Bhuwan K C), a struggling film producer trying to fulfill his father’s wish. In his movie venture, Avisekh lost everything including his wife Puja (Richa Ghimire), his house, his car, and his luxurious life. All he was left with was his son Anmol (played by Shirshak Sapkota). Although, he had numerous problems in pursuing his father’s dream project, a movie named Saathi Ma Timro, he tried his best to keep his son Anmol from being aware of such problems. A struggling actress Ashmi (Rekha Thapa) was impressed by Avisekh got attracted towards him. Although deep inside she loved Avisekh, she couldn’t express her love to him.

Will Avisekh be able to finish his father’s dream project? Will his little son Anmol know about the problems his father faced? Will Ashmi be able to express her love to Avisekh? Will Puja come back in the life of Avisekh?

To get the answers to these questions, it would be better to watch the movie itself.

Strength and weakness:

Music is situational and melodious, action is good, script and dialogues are good and filled with emotions, cinematography is good. All that makes the movie enjoyable and it will also touch your emotions at times. It will also make you laugh occasionaly. Dialogues are very effective in touching the heart and mind of audiance. The dialogue also has nepali feel and it also represents our culture and society.

Talking about weakness – there is no such major mistake that might ruins the movie. One of the worst part of the movie is its ending. The movie starts making the audiences emotional but its end is not that emotional. Although the climax can’t be termed ‘bad’, it is not that effective.

The movie is targeted to the fans of Bhuwan KC and ithas all the ingredients to make it impressive to those fans and supporters. But, for the youngesters, there is not much excitement. The movie’s story, making, presentation, promotion etc. is all targeted towards those the group of people who are believed to be the “real viewers of Nepali movies”. So, “Saathi Ma Timro” will appeal to the lovers of masala movies.

Actors / Actresses

Bhuwan K C has justified his role as a father as well as a son. He is known of pure Nepali flavor in his acting and that can also be seen in this movie. Another important character, the child artist, Shirshak Sapkota, has done a good job in his debut movie. Shirshak’s role is impressive and make viewer’s laugh. There is a good chemistry between Bhuwan and Shirshak and it is another key factor for the entertainment of viewers.

Rekha Thapa has performed well in a role of a young girl dreaming to be an actress. She has done good acting in comedy as well as emotional scenes. Although Richa Ghimire was not featured in any promotional materials, it was surprising to see her in an important role in the movie. Richa has also performed well. In addition to these actors, many other senior artists like Dinesh DC, Kiran KC, Kamal Krishna Poudel are also featured in the movie and they all have done well in their roles.

Another important and attraction of this movie is the real son of Bhuwan KC, Anmol KC. Although everyone had be excited about his special appearance in the movie, his special appearance is limited to only a song. All he has done is lip sync on an unrelated song. As he hasn’t done any acting, there is no way to judge Anmol’s acting talent.

Summary:

The star cast and the way of promotion says that “Saathi Ma Timro” is targeted to the regular Nepali movie viewers and fans of Bhuwan KC. The movie is made perfect for those types of viewers. The movie has melodious songs, comedy, family drama, few action scenes and some scenes that make people cry. Movie has a higher chance to do good business outside Kathmandu valley. There are plenty of valley dwellers too who would love watching this type of movie.
