‘Girls’ in controversy before inauguration
Even before its inauguration, Girls, a movie to be directed and produced by Prince is dragged into controversy. Invitation card of the inauguration ceremony of the Trends Nepal’s first venture featured the lead actress Jenisha with bare back. But, Jenisha claimed that the body of the girl featured on the invitation card and poster is not hers. She claimed that her head was attached to somebody else’s body digitally.
The producer and director, Prince, however said that they didn’t do any Photoshop tricks on the actress’s body. He also told that if Jenisha doesn’t admit the truth, she might even be out of the project.

Green rice – Soak to eat
The rice I am talking is not ‘green’ in color but is green in terms of saving the environment.Agricultural scientists in India claim that they have developed a variety of rice that doesn’t require cooking. The soft rice is invented in Central Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, India.
The rice, named Aghoni Bora, looks similar to other varieties but it can simply be soaked in cold water for about forty-five minutes before it can be eaten.

A woman in China wanted to do a plastic surgery to look like Jessica Alba and Alba responded with a positive message, after a month.I am wondering if it has anything to do with the upcoming romantic comedy movie ‘Valentine’s Day’, featuring Jessica Alba, and arriving in theaters on Feb. 12.

Children of God – Documentary
- Winner – Best Documentary – Jeonju 2009 International Film Festival
- Winner – Best Documentary – Japan, Korea, China Producers Forum
- Official Selection – 2009 Hot Docs International Film Festival, Canada
Children of God explores the life of the children who live beside the Baghmati River in Nepal. The children rob the corpses for food and dive into the river to grab coins used as funeral offerings by the mourners.
The film exposes the social conditions of the suppressed Nepalese people through the plight of their children, where reverence for the old and dead far outweighs the care for the young and living. Experiencing their innocence and their hardship through songs, stories and heartbreaking living conditions, exposes the contradiction of the material world that rests upon perhaps the most spiritual culture on earth.
Children of God will remind you of scenes from Slumdog Millionaire and is reminiscent of Charcoal People released by Vanguard Cinema.

The unique, disabled teacher
The person in the photo above, being carried by the little girl, is her teacher. The 55 years-old, about 10 Kg in weight, Krishna Prasad Poudel, has been teaching in the local school, Bhagavati Lower Secondary School, for the last 39 years. One team of the students carry him to the school in the morning and another team brings him back home in the laps of his old mother. The old mother is the only person to take care of him at home.
Almost everybody i
n the Thulopokhara village of Arghakachi district, Western Nepal, is taught by Krishna Prasad. The 8 class pass, longest serving teacher in the school, is still in a temporary status while his previous students are permanent teachers in the school. (source – kantipur) -
