  • Big banks in IC misappropriation: FM Pun

“It has been learnt that big banks have been involved in misappropriation of large amount of Indian Currency (IC),” said Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun at the Reporter’s Club on Sunday.  He further said, “Investigation into the matter has been initiated and that banks involved would not be spared at any cost.”

At the Reporter’s Club, Pun also said that the budget document presented by the former government at the Legislature-Parliament would be endorsed without amending it.

According to Pun, the political parties have already agreed and the Parliament has even prepared a calendar to endorse the budget within September 18. He added, “We have learnt a lesson from the past that delay in endorsing the budget would affect the financial growth rate.”

Pun commits to create an investment friendly environment in the country. He claimed that the government would resume the closed garment unit of the Surya Nepal Private Limited—one of the leading joint venture companies which has been closed since June 15 due to the strike by trade union workers and cancellation of orders by importers.
