The Department of Civil Personnel Records on Sunday submitted the name list of 27,910 defiant civil servants to the National Vigilance Centre (NVC) and NVC is set to recommend the CIAA to take legal action against them for failing to submit their property details, according to Kantipur.
As per the law, the persons holding public positions and government officials must make public their property details within 60 days after being appointed to the post and beginning of the fiscal year.
NVC Spokesman Arjun Khanal said name lists of the defiant officials from the Parliamentary Secretariat, Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Local Development, Ministry of Education and Department of Police Records has not received yet. The Corruption Prevention Act-2002 states that if the person holding position do not submit their property details within 60 days of assuming office, he will be liable to a fine of Rs 5,000.
