A sudden explosion of office computer kills an Armed Police Force (APF) constable, Kedar Kafle in Birgunj on Tuesday.
Kafle, 28, who was posted to an APF base camp providing security to Birgunj Customs Office in Parsa district, got serious injured in his head and other parts of the body while operating the computer in the communication department at around 10 am. He died during treatment going on at the National Medical College, in Birgunj.
The explosion was very loud like a bomb explosion. The roof was also destroyed. Other police officials, Hari Krishna Khadka and Ram Lama also got injured during the explosion and their treatment is undergoing at the National Medical College.
APF Inspector Ram B.K said they are investigating the incident. A police team during inspection after the incident found that a voltage guard was not used for operating the computer. “It looks like the computer exploded after not being able to bear the flow of electricity,” inspector Manjil Mukarung said.
