Nepali actress Nisha Adhikari has started her ascent to reach the top of the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest. She is heading for the Camp II at 2AM Nepali time. She is expecting the reach the top on May 21, 2013.
In a statement, Nisha told that she is, ‘Nervous, excited, hoping, anticipating and happy that the morning has finally arrived." Nisha thinks that the best thing about climbing the mountain is being in the nature’s ‘majestic lap’ and the sense of unbiasedness.
Nigam Shrestha debuted as a director in his upcoming movie ‘Chadke’, scheduled to release this Friday. He had worked as an assistant director in one of the most popular movies of modern time, ‘Loot‘ and has repeated some of the casts of the movie in his debut movie. Q - Tell us something about your first directed movie ”Chadke”.
Nigam Shrestha – ‘Chadke’ is a story of gangsters of Chitwan. ‘Chadke’ is a thriller movie and also related to environment of Nepal . In short ‘Chadke’ is a movie that is made to entertain the audiences.
Actress Manisha Koirala has undergone a surgery in a cancer hospital in New York. The surgery started after 5:00 PM local time and lasted for more than 6 hours.
It is reported that a gynecologic/female genital tract surgeon who had operated Manisha had told that a successful operation takes 5-6 hours. As of the time of this writing, Manisha is in recovery room and her family members are waiting to see her.

Actress Manisha Koirala is currently in the US for further checkup and treatment after being diagnosed of cancer in India.
While in Nepal for Tihar, she got sick and admitted to a hospital in Kathmandu. She was initially thought to be suffering from food poisoning. When she fainted, the doctors decided that something much serious was the case and referred her to Indian hospital. She was admitted to Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai where she was diagnosed of having ovarian cancer. As the cancer was in it’s initial stage the doctors were confident that they could cure Manisha. But, Manisha’s friends and families wanted a better treatment and suggested an US hospital for further treatment.
Raju Lama’s popular song ‘Lakahu Kosish’ is found to be previously sung by another singer Jeevan Lama. Jeevan has accused Saroj Lama of stealing his song and selling to Indira Pun who had hired Raju Lama to sing the song. To know the truth, xnepali.com had contacted both Raju Lama and Jeevan Lama. Here is the summary of the response of the two singers:
Jeevan Lama told that the song was originally written by Ramji Lama and sung by Jeevan Lama. Jeevan told, “Raju Lama is innocent. The song was stolen by Saroj Lama and he sold it to Indira Pun.”
Jeevan Lama also told that he has all the documents including agreement letter to prove the case.
Raju Lama also responded to xnepali’s request to comment and told that he was paid to sing the song and he wasn’t involved in any other dealing.
Jeevan Lama had released an album ‘Anubhav’ with the song “Lakhau Kosish … ” in 2002 (BS 2059) by Dhaulagiri Cassette Center. In 2010 (2067BS) the same song was released in the voice of Raju Lama as a part of the collection album of Indira Pun. Jeevan’s album was released in 2002 by Dhaulagiri Cassette Center. In Jeevan Lama version of the song music is composed by Dipendraman Singh but in Raju Lama version, the music is told to be composed by Saroj Lama.
Actress Namrata Shrestha had been seeing Prem Ghale for some time and now she has updated her relationship status in her Facebook profile reflecting their close relationship. This news however is not new. The affair about the two started in late 2010 and were seen for the first time together in the premier of the movie ‘Acharya’. After that, the couple are usually seen together and Namrata has also been posting their photos in her Facebook profile.
This year, on Valentine day, Namrata posted their photo in Facebook, confirming the intimate relationship.

A news about actress Sushma Karki being kicked out of the an upcoming movie ‘Bar’ took another twist when the actress accuses the movie unit of ‘sexual harassment’. In the news, the director and shooting unit had removed her from the team when she was more focused on romancing with her boyfriend than the shooting.
The producers of the movie asked Sushma Karki to go to Attariya for shooting. But, she didn’t go there because she didn’t want to do the movie. In th
e last minute, she decided to go there in a car. But, to ensure the starting of the shooting the cinematographer had asked her to go by flight than in car. Sushma insisted on going in car and she also took her boy friend with her.
In a program held to mark 99th birthday of the first elected prime minister of Nepal, BP Koirala, actress Jharana Thapa was honored by an award. Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala handed over the award to the actress. Other Nepali movie artists honored in the program include actress Jharana Bajracharya, actress Garima Pant, actor Krishna Malla, RP Panta, Sunil Thapa, Jitu Nepal, Deepak Raj Giri, Sambhujit Baskota and Prabhakar Sharma among others.

Bollywood actress of Nepali origin, Manisha Koirala is in Kathmandu now for the opening of Sushila Art Academy. Sushila Art Academy is named after Sushila Koirala, the wife of first elected prime minister of Nepal, BP Koirla.
In a question about her divorce rumors Manisha told that, “the medias have made unnecessary issues. We are as we used to be.” But, in spite of her denying, her husband Samrat Dahal wasn’t with her in the program.
Manisha admitted that she can’t multitask. When she wanted to live in family, she could work as artist and had to stay away from movies. Now, she is working in movies and planning to produce movies – indicating her lack of desire to become a family person.
Nepali people had a lot of hopes from Miss Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha but she couldn’t be selected in the top 15 list. Many fans of Shristi however are satisfied that she had managed to be ranked 21st. That in itself was a record in Nepal participation in Miss World.
Shristi’s achievement in being selected as one of the top 10 in Miss World Beach Fashion contest was also a new record. The winner of Miss World Beach Fashion contest was Miss Wales.
This year’s Miss World was awarded to Miss China. This is the second time
Miss China has been awarded the title. The last time Zhang Zilin was awarded the Miss World 2007.

After ex-king Gyanendra was forced to leave the palace and live like a general citizen, Paras had reportedly blamed his father for the trouble and is not in good terms with his family since. Shristi Shrestha hailing from Chitwan has won the Miss Nepal 2012 crown. She is also known as a British Nepali model. In the event, Nagma Shrestha was declared the first runner-up and Nepal’s representative to Miss Earth. The second runner-up was Subekshya Khadka. The actress Ranju Jha who was killed on a bomb blast at Ramananda Chowk of Janakpur on Monday is declared a martyr by the government. After the declaration, Ranju’s family receives Rs. 1 million. 35 year-old Ranju’s husband works in Delhi and was the mother of two sons.
The struggling actress has shown a great potential in Nepali acting. She was lead actress in the award winning short film ‘Chaukhat’ by Deepak Rauniyar. Ranju had also acted in some television films and short movies. She was featured in a tele-serial ‘Aama-2′ by Madan Krishna Shrestha and Ha
ri Bansha Acharya, and other tele-serials like "Shristi" and "Kala-azar". A well known actor, director, Nir Shah, was so impressed by Ranju’s talent that he wrote an article in Kantipur daily remembering her.
In total, four people, including Ranju, were killed and more than 18 others were injured when a bomb was blasted at the venue of a sit-in protest by the Mithila State Struggle Committee at Ramananda Chowk in Janakpur on Monday morning.
