Chain-snatcher jumps into jail!

Police in Kurnool, rural area of Andhra Pradesh, Southern India, caught a man when he was trying to snatch a gold chain from a woman on the outskirts of the town. The thief at first tried to play mischief by telling a sob-story to the policemen about his ailing mother. The plea fell on deaf ears.

The thief, kept in the rural police station premises, thought of a better way to escape the police. When he got chance he climbed atop a huge tree inside the police station compound and jumped from the tree to the other side of the compound.

To his biggest surprise, the other side was actually a jail. The escape attempt from police station actually landed him in the jail. The jail authorities however handed over the thief to the Police station later. (source)
