Flashback 2010 – Nepali celebrities – Actresses

After the analysis of the movies released in 2010 (in Part 1 and Part 2), let’s look back to 2010 and analyze the works of actors and directors to see who were successful and who were unsuccessful in the Nepali film industry.

Nepali Actresses

With two hits movies and an appreciable performance on Bato Muni Ko Phul, Rekha Thapa is the front runner in the list of successful persons in Nepali movie industry in the year 2010. Rekha’s role in Hifajat, Kasle Choryo Mero Mann and Bato Muni Ko Phul were appreciated by the viewers. Her glamorous role in other movies couldn’t leave a long lasting impression in the viewers.

A few movies in Jharana Thapa‘s credit couldn’t do good business. But, her performance in the movie, Timi Matrai Timi, is appreciable and has proved that her talent is an asset in Nepali film industry. Although Rekha is more popular and gives hit movies, Jharna Thapa’s acting in Timi Matrai Timi seem to imply that she is better in acting skills.

Although none of her movies were released this year, Namrata Shrestha got media attention due to her comeback in films. This year, she was busy in the sets of her new movie Miss U… Other actresses like Nandita KC, Richa Ghimire, Richa Sharma, and Nisha Adhikari couldn’t show any magic through their movies.

Re-entries

Re-entry of Manisha Koirala in Nepali movies through Dharmaa was widely publicized and her marriage and divorce-rumor was also top of the news in the year 2010. It sad the sad part, that the movie couldn’t live up to the expectation of the viewers.

The widely publicized re-entry of Jharana Bajracharya in Nepali movies through Kohi Mero was not that ground breaking.
