Hindu devotees couldn't save Shambo the sacred bull
Posted on July 27th, 2007 No commentsThe sacred bullock, Shambo, is finally put to death by lethal injection, Government vets confirmed Friday, 27 morning.
Police officers armed with bolt cutters had to be called in last night to help officials seize the animal, who was at the centre of a three-month legal dispute.
As the bullock was finally driven away Brother James shouted, with tears flowing down his cheeks, “Goodbye Shambo, come back as a human next time.”
A post-mortem examination found further signs that Shambo was infected, raising the prospect that other animals at Skanda Vale may have to be slaughtered.
