Nepali Movies released in 2068 BS

In Nepal, we have recently stepped into the New year, 2069. Last year, year 2068, was unique in terms of large number of movie releases and success of new comers. Following graph shows the number of Nepali movie released, arranged by month.

The month of Ashad saw the maximum number of releases, totaling 10 new Nepali movies. None of the movies were however successful. The second highest number of release occurred in Bhadra with 9 new movies released. There were 7 releases in Poush and Chaitra.

In 2068 the movies that were successful represented the new generation. The movie "Loot" is considered to be the most successful movie of the year. Some critically acclaimed movies like "Acharya" and "Masan" couldn’t do a good business. New artists and directors were successful when compared to established actors, actresses and directors. ‘Loot’, released on Poush 29 was one of the four movies release on the same day but, the competition from other releases did no harm to it’s business.
