The eleventh edition of Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) is running in Kathmandu since December 11 and will conclude on December 15. The film festival features 47 short films from 20 countries all over Nepal in the City Hall, Kathmandu.
On the inauguration day, Wednesday, a short film by Shahara Sharma ‘Indreni Khodai Janda’ was premiered. The film is made on the struggle of three sisters.
On the finale of Miss Nepal USA held in New York at the mid-night of August 17, Bartika Rai was crowned the title – Miss Nepal USA 2013. After winning the title Bartika was awarded $5,000 in scholarship.
22-years-old resident of New York Bartika is 5 feet and 2 inches tall beauty. She enjoys making music, writing articles, and travelling. She was one of the 16 finalists claiming this year’s Miss Nepal US(A) title.
The third edition of African film festival held by the College of Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC) has completed successfully in Kathmandu. The film festival was held in the Russian Cultural Center in Kamalpokhari. On the closing ceremony the member of Film Development Board, Nilhari Kafley appreciated the college effort and dedication on the organization of the film festival for the last three years.
The Third Nepal Africa Film Festival 2013 started with the theme "Bridging Gap Nepal and Africa." The top actor of Nepali movie industry, Rajesh Hamal inaugurated the film festival on June 18, 2013.
Out of 30 films, 10 African Films were selected to be screened in the festival. In addition to African films, two Danish films, three short Russian and three Nepali films were also screened in the festival.
Ishani Shrestha has won the Miss Nepal 2013 title after giving the best answer to the question on joint family and dis-joint family. Miss Nepal 2013 Shristi Shrestha crowned the new Miss Nepal in the event held on March 20 in Pragya Bhawan. After winning the title, Ishani will represent Nepal in Miss World 2013 beauty contest.
