Friday Release – Manjari and Shirishko Phool
On Friday, May 3, two movies are going to release in theater. Gaurav Pahadi and Sujata Koirala’s ‘Manjari’ and the movie made on the popular novel of Parijat ‘Shirishko Phool’ are releasing in theaters all over Nepal.
Manjari
The ‘Manjari’ team had complained that the censor board had unnecessarily removed scenes from the movie to let it release. The movie by Tuka Entertainment is directed by Ganesh Dev Pandey. The songs with music by Kali Prasad Baskota have been popular among the audience and the acting of the characters seen in the promotions have also been appreciated. The fate of the movie however will be determined when it releases in theater.

Badhshala released on April 19
When the release of two other movies ‘Himmat 2′ and ‘Dristikod’ were postponed, ‘Badhashala’ has become the solo release on the Friday, April 19.
The movie is made on the torture at Bhairavnath army barrack by Nepal Army during Maoist civil war. Nepal Army had objected the use of the dress of army in the movie without prior approval and had asked the government to ban the movie. The film makers had protested the ban and the movie release was postponed for more than a month. After the protest from film makers and human right activists and others the movie was censored and some scenes were removed before allowing it to release.

List of Nepali movies released in 2069
In 2069 more than twice the amount of movies were made when compared to movies released in 2068. There were 116 movies released in the year 2069. That is almost equivalent to one movie releasing every three days.

You can see, Ashad had the highest number of the release of new movies – 16 movies. Bhadra had 13 new releases. This is a huge increased when compared with the chart we posted last year.

April 5 release – Vigilante 3D and Kisan
Two Nepali movies ‘Vigilante 3D’ and ‘Kisan’ are released in theater on Friday, April 5. The movie ‘Vigilante’ is the first Nepali movie made in 3D technology. Another release, ‘Kisan’ was completed 2010 but wasn’t released in theater.
Kisan
Made on the story of farmer, ‘Kisan’ is a movie directed by Bimal Poudel and features Rajesh Hamal, Ganesh Upreti, Nandita KC, Neeta Dhungana, Nir Shah, Rajesh Dhungana, and Mausami Malla, Chetan Sapkota in main roles. The movie is presented by Basanta Kumar Shrestha and is made under the banner of Kaligandaki Cine Max. The movie features the music of Chetan Sapokota, cinematography of Raju KC and action of Roshan Shrestha.

Manjari release pushed back by a month
The movie ‘Manjari’, scheduled to release on this Friday, is pushed back when the Censor Board objected on some of it’s scenes. Another movie, ‘Vigilante’ scheduled to release on this Friday had also postponed it’s release. ‘Rakshya’, ‘Katha’ and ‘Love in China Boarder’ were released instead.
Melodious music of ‘Manjari’ have been quite popular before the release of the movie and there are quite some people who are awaiting it’s release.

Friday release – Rhythm, Bardaan and Paltan
Three new movies have released in theater today (on March 8). Two of them, ‘Rhythm’ and ‘Paltan’ were released in Kathamndu and the third movie ‘Bardaan’ was released only in theaters out of Kathamndu after a mutual agreement with the other two. ‘Bardaan’ will release in Kathamndu on March 15.
Rhythm
Written and directed by Bikash Acharya, ‘Rhythm’ is made on a love story. The musical movie features Jiwan Luitel, Wilson Bikram Rai, Sweta Bhattarai, Nir Shah, Nishma Ghimire and Sohit Manandhar in main roles. The movie made on One Time banner is produced by Pradeep Dahal.

Rejina Upreti’s Bardaan release in Kathmandu pushed to 15 March
The release date of Rejina Upreti‘s first movie as a director ‘Bardaan’, is changed after discussion with the film makers of ‘Rhythm’ and ‘Paltan’.
In mutual understanding, Rejina had agreed to delay the release of the movie by a week in Kathmandu. If the movie were released on March 8 it would have to be constrained to 9 theaters. After the delay, the movie will be screened in 25 theaters. The movie will however release on March 8 in 30 theaters out of Kathmandu.

Manav to release on Feb 8
After 16 years of absence from the Nepali movie industry, actor Saroj Khanal is making reentry with ‘Manav’. The movie is scheduled to release in theaters on February 8.

Timro Lagi to release on Feb 1
Nepali movie ‘Timro Lagi’ is going to be released on February 1, 2012. After numerous postponements, the release date was finalized to release this Friday.

Hamesha to release in April
Rekha Thapa’s upcoming movie ‘Hamesha’ is scheduled to release on April 12, 2013. The movie, currently in post-production, is directed by Sabir Shrestha and is produced by Chhabi raj Ojha/Dijendra Shakya.

Audio of 'Kollywood' released, again
In a press meet held in Kathmandu, the audio of upcoming movie ‘Kollywood’ was released on December 30, 2012. The music was previously unveiled in a program held in Qatar, and the second release of the CD is believed to be nothing more than a publicity stunt.
In the audio release program Ashok Sharma was the chief guest. The director Navaraj Acharya, actors Aryan Sigdel, ac
tress Priyanka Karki and the producer Tanka Karki jointly unveiled the music CD. The movie features three songs including an item song. Miss Nepal 2011 Malina Joshi is also featured in one of the songs in the movie. -
'So Simple' to release on October 19
To take advantage of Dashain festival, the Shiva Regmi movie, ‘So Simple’ is going to be released on October 19, 2012. Dashain holidays start on the same day.
Dashain being the largest festival having the longest holiday in Nepal, every movie try their effort to release in that time. We can expect more movies to release on the date.

'Naina Resham' and 'Bhaihalchha Ni' releasing on April 27
This week, two Nepali movies are releasing. A movie made by the director MS Agraj, "Bhai Halchha Ni" is releasing all over Nepal and director RBK Sharad’s "Naina Resham" are going to be released in Kathmandu theaters.
Bhaihalchha Ni is a new release by Colours Movies and Entertainment. The movie featuring Suman Singh, Garima Pant, Sonia KC, Bishal Pokharel,
Sunil Thapa etc. in leading roles featured Govind Acharya’s music."Naina Resham" was previously screened in theaters out of Kathamndu and features Nisha Adhikari and Biraj Bhatt in leading role. This was the debut movie of Nisha Adhikari. The movie features music of Basanta Sapkota and was produced by Ajit Jung Rayamajhi.

Silsila got it’s turn in Kathmandu after 3 years
A movie released out of Kathmandu some three years ago has finally got it’s turn to be screened in Kathmandu. Last time I was surprised to see the movie,Chodi Gaya Paap Lagla taking 2 years to reach Kathmandu theaters. Silsila broke the record!
