Haritara Film Award awarded to Sunil Thapa and Dinesh DC

This year’s Haritara Film Award was awarded to actor Sunil Thapa and actor/director Dinesh DC for their contribution to the Nepali movie industry. A program held by Haritara Award Guthi in Kathmandu on March 30 to hand over the award to the winner.

Actor Sunil Thapa has been active in the movie industry for the last 25 years and DC has been active as  a journalist, RJ, actor and director for the last 15 years. The award amount is Rs. 25,000. In addition to awarding Sunil Thapa and DC, five other film related personal to be honored were producer Chhabi Raj Ojha, film journalist ShantiPriya, actress Sapana Shrestha, artist Binod Shrestha and actress/producer Jenny Kunwar.

Rudrakshya, audio released, movie on December 21

A suspense thriller movie ‘Rudrakshya’ is going to be released in theaters all over Nepal on Friday, December 21, 2012 (Poush 6th). On Thursday, a program was organized in Kathmandu to release it’s music. The music CD was released by Film Producer Association president Raj Kumar Rai.

Talking in the program, actor Sunil Thapa remembered the movie ‘Chino’ from which he was popular by the name Rate Kaila. After the release of ‘Rudrakshya’ Sunil Thapa thinks that his new name will be ‘Pale Dai’. Sunil Thapa is seen in different get-up in pr

Four movies releasing this week

This week, on December 14, 2012 four Nepali movies are releasing in the theaters. Movies ‘Shyana’ and ‘Karbhahi’ are releasing all over Nepal, ‘Bhul Bhaya Maaf Gara’ is releasing in Kathmandu after it’s 2-years-old release in theaters out of Kathmandu. ‘Love You Man’ is releasing in the theaters out of Kathmandu.

SP Movie Maker’s ‘Shyana’ is directed by Sameer Miya and produced by Suraj Pradhan. The movie made on love story features actor Prasant Giri, Khusbu Khadga, Saloni Gurung, and Madan Shrestha in main roles. The movie was shot in various locations in Pa
lpa, Lumbini, Narayangad and Kathmandu. The movie features the cinematography of Binod Sapkota, choreography of Ratna Joshi and Suresh Chaudahri. The special effects in the movie is also told to be unique and interesting.

Jharana Thapa honored by Nepal Sanskritik Sangh

In a program held to mark 99th birthday of the first elected prime minister of Nepal, BP Koirala, actress Jharana Thapa was honored by an award. Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala handed over the award to the actress. Facebook – Movie Review

The movie produced by actress Jharana Thapa, ‘Facebook’ was released all over Nepal on Firday, September 7. The director, Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ has also written the suspense thriller movie.The movie related to the social networking site Facebook features Jharana Thapa, Swatantra Pratap Shah, Rajesh Hamal, Sunil Thapa, and Subash Thapa in lead roles.

Story:
Facebook is a story of a girl named Sanskriti (Jharana Thapa) who falls in love with Yodin (Swatantra Pratap). Yodin, a rich NRI living in Singapore, knew Sanskriti in the social networking site, Facebook. After an online affair, Yodin flew back to Nepal to marry Sanskriti. In Nepal, Yodin’s uncle Harish (Sunil Thapa) sends them to a theatre to watch movie where Yodin was kidnaped by a gang. The police thought Harish was behind the kidnapping of Yodin.
