Three movies Manav, Rang and Maina released in theaters

This week three Nepali movies are released in theaters. Actor Saroj Khanal‘s reentry movie ‘Manav’, a historical movie based on real incident, ‘Maina’ and ‘Rang’ are the new releases this week.

Manav

‘Manav’ was supposed to release on February 8 but, it was pushed back a week to release on 15th. The comeback movie of Saroj Khanal features Saroj in Nepali movie after 16 years of absence from Nepali movie industry. The movie directed by Yadav Silwal features Sweta Bhattarai and Dipsikha Shahi in lead roles. The actress Dipsikha has recently renamed herself to Sikha Shahi.

Rang

The movie by the long-time assistant of actor , Roshan Thakuri, ‘Rang’ features Rajesh Hamal and Karishma Manandhar in short roles. The lead actors of the movie are Suman Singh and Dipsikha Shahi.  The movie also features Mukesh Acharya. The attire of actress Karishma Manandhar on the press meet of the movie was one of the most talked about topic of last week.

Maina

The movie made on the real story of a 14-year old girl Maina Sunar who was raped and killed by Nepal Army during Maoist insurgency is also released today. The movie features Anita KC as Maina. Other cast of the movie include Govinda Prabhat, Radha Shrestha, Kumar Maharjan, Ram Saran Pathak, Krishna Pathak etc. Maina is directed by KP Pathak. Details of the movie:

The 14 year old Maina Sunar was arrested from her home at Kharelthok, Kavrepalanchowk by the Army on the accusation that she was a Maoist cadet. She was tortured in the Army barracks and was killed in custody.
