I have prepared an experimental video abut a discussion in Twitter about Nepali movies. This is the first in the series – a very dull and completely uninteresting topic. Although, the topic wasn’t interesting at all, the response among Twitter friends was very good. So, I prepared a 3 minutes long video about the discussion.

Kabaddi wins NFDC Film Awards (full list of winners)

Aryan and Priyanka become the best actors

The 3rd edition of NFDC Film Award ceremony was held in Kathmandu on September 12 at Hotel Hayat in Boudha. TIn the ceremony ‘Kabaddi’ was awarded the best movie of the year 2071. Actor Aryan Sigdel was awarded the best actor for his role in ‘November Rain’ and actress Priyanka Karki was awarded the Best actress for her role in ‘Suntali’.

The best director award was handed over to the director of ‘Kabaddi’, Ram Babu Gurung. The full list of winners is as follows:

Hasiya sequel to be made, Hema Shrestha and Anup Bikram Shahi to lead

After a year of the release of action movie ‘Hasiya’, the director and the producer of the movie has announced the making of the sequel of the movie. According to Milan Chams, the sequel of the movie will repeat actress Hema Shrestha in leading role. Actor Anup Bikram Shahi will be featured opposite to Hema.

The original ‘Hasiya’ featuring Hema Shrestha in action role was produced by Durga Ghale. The movie ‘Hasiya’ was released on May 23, 2014. After the movie, Hema started working as an air hostess at Etihad Airways and moved to Abu Dhabi, UAE. Hema is a trained in martial arts and had performed stunts in her debut movie. The item song featuring Hema Shrestha and Priyanka Karki was highly advertised for costing Rs. 1 million to film. Actor Rajesh Hamal had also taken the poster to the top of the highest peak in the UK for it’s promotion.

Friday Release, Mero Best Friend and Hasiya

Two highly awaited movies, ‘Mero Best Friend’ and ‘Hasiya’ are releasing in theater on May 23, 2014. One of them is the debut movie of Priyanka Karki and another also features Priyanka as an item girl.

Hasiya

The action themed movie ‘Hasiya’ features actress Hema Shrestha in fully action role. The female oriented movie is produced by Milan Chams. With Hema superstar is also featured in lead role in the movie. Other notable actors in the movie are Miss Nepal 1994, Ruby Rana and Anup Bikram Shahi. The movie was recently premiered in UK. The viewers in the UK had termed the movie of being of international standard.

Rajesh Hamal took Hasiya poster on the top of Stonedon mountain

Actor and ‘Hasiya’ producer Milan Chams climbed Stonedon mountain in UK and displayed the posted of the upcoming movie on the top. Although it is termed the highest mountain in Wales, the 3,560 ft (1,085 m) mountain is more like a stone hill than a mountain.

On top of the mountain Rajesh Hamal and the team featured posters of ‘Hasiya’. Rajesh Hamal and ‘Hasiya’ team is currently in the UK to premier the movie and promote it.

Hasiya item song, filmed on a Rs. 1m set

The song of upcoming movie ‘Hasiya’, shot on a set constructed by spending Rs. 1 million has released. The item dance featuring actress Hema Shrestha and Priyanka Karki is made on the voice of Shivani Moktan. ‘Aaja ko raatama …’ is written by Nilam Rai, music by Kalyan Singh.

The director Milan Chams says that the item song also feature action scenes as the movie is an action flick. Lead actress Hema is featured in action role in the movie. With Hema the movie also features and Anup Bikram Shahi in main roles.

Two actresses Priyanka Karki and Hema Shrestha do an item dance in Hasiya

In an upcoming movie, ‘Hasiya’ two actresses – Priyanka Karki and Hema Shrestha are featured as item girls. The shooting of the movie has recently concluded. One of the item dancers, Hema is the lead actress of the movie.

The director of the movie Milan Chams says that the dance is not only an item dance but an action item song. The choreographer of the dance, Renasha Rai claims that it was the first time two major actresses have done an item song in Nepali movie.
