In an event held in Kathmandu on September 8, 2016 actress Namrata Shrestha had been awarded the fourth award for her role in ‘Classic’.
Namrata Shrestha was awarded the best actress award in:

The best actor award winner Dayahang Rai has also won the award two times. In other two times, Namrata’s partner in ‘Classic’ Aryan Sigdel was awarded. The best movie award was handed over to ‘Pashupati Prasad’.

The film award being distributed by Gopi Krishna Movies, NFDC National Film Award 2016 nomination was released in a program held in Kathmandu. The Award ceremony will be held in Ashoj. It’s interesting two movies released on the same day – ‘Premgeet’ and ‘Classic’ were nominated in the most number of awards – 11 categories each. ‘Pashupati Prasad’ and ‘Woda Number 6’ each were nominated in 8 different categories and ‘Kabaddi Kabaddi’ was nominated in 7 categories.

The winners of the National Film Award 2073 (2016 AD) is announced. The winners were selected from the movies released in 2072. ‘Pashupati Prasad’ won three awards, ‘Classic’ and ‘Dreams’ won two awards.

Two new movies have released in theater today, on January 29, 2016. The movie by the team of ‘Talakjung VS Tulke’ famed Khagendra Lamichane, ‘Pashupati Prasad’ seems to be similar character based movie. Another release ‘Regfuge’ features Jiwan Luitel in leading role.
After the success of Khagendra Lamichane’s movie ‘Talakjung VS Tulke’, his movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’ was awaited by his fans. A premier show of the movie was held on Thursday among artists, journalists and guests. The movie is about a guy who had gone to Kathmandu to earn money from a remote village after the death of his parents. The movie directed by Dipendra K Khanal is shot mostly in Pashupati area featuring Khagendra in leading role. Actress Barsha Siwakoti, Bipin Karki, Prakash Ghimire and Rabindra Singh Baniya are featured in main characters in the movie. The movie made under the joint banner of Tuki Films and Dipendra K Khanal Production. The director, Dipendra K Khanal had previously directed successful movies like ‘Chapali Height’, ‘Jhole’, ‘The Yug Dekhi Yug Samma’ and ‘Dharma’ (all these movies are available to watch in xnepali).
A day before the release of the movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’, a premier show was held in Jaya Nepal theater among film crew, film artists, guests and journalists.
Artists present in the show held on January 28 were comedy actor Hari Bamsha Acharya and his family, Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Bikash Acharya, actress Mala Limbu, choreographer Renasha Rai, director Hemraj BC, Nischal Basnet, Keki Adhikari, Reema Bishowkarma etc. Most of the artists have told that they liked the movie.
In an event held in Kathmandu on November 25, 2015, the first trailer of the upcoming movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’ was released. The movie written and acted by ‘Talakjung VS Tulke’ famed Tulke – Khagendra Lamichane, in the leading role, is featured as Pashupati Prasad in the upcoming movie. The movie scheduled to release on January 29, 2015.

The movie ‘Pashupati Prasad’ is a joint presentation of Tukee and Dipendra K Khanal production. The movie directed and made on the story of Dipendra K Khanal, features Khagendra Lamichhane, Barsha Siwakoti, Prakash Ghimire, Bipin Karki, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Mishree Thapa and Ashish Adhikari in main roles.
The movie is a story of a youth from a village who comes to Kathmandu to fulfill the dreams of his deceased parents. The guy who started to make his living in Pashupati temple area is named Pashupati Prasad.

The movie ‘Talakjung Vs Tulke’ is a highly appreciated movie directed by superhit movie ‘Loot’, Nischal Basnet. (watch ‘Loot’ here). The movie has won various awards in different award ceremonies and the movie is also selected to represent Nepal in Oscars Awards (the official selection decision is pending). The movie was released in theater on October 31, 2014.
Actor Dayahang Rai is featured in a guest apperance role. The movie features the action of Asta Maharjan, choreography of Gambhir Bista, lyrics by Nischal Basnet, music by Jeson Kunwar, cienmatography by Ser Bahadur Lama, editing by Lokesh Bajracharya. The executive producer is Rabindra Singh Baniya. The leading actor, Khagendra Lamichane, has written the story, screenplay and dialogue of the movie.
BesLike previous years the Nepali film awards by the association of Nepali film technicians, NEFTA, was held in foreign soil. This year’s award ceremony was held in Qatar. In the ceremony held among 8,000 audience award on various categories were handed over to the winners. Winning 5 different awards, ‘Talakjung Vs. Tulke’ became the best movie this year.

On the occasion of the International Human Rights day (December 10, 2012), the poster of an upcoming movie ‘Badhshala’ was released in Kathmandu. ‘Badhshala’ is told to be made on the story of the abuse of human rights. The poster also features a character ready to be tortured in a room that looks like a windows less army/police torture room.
