I wish xNepali readers a very happy new year 2073. On the new year, I am looking back on the movies released in 2072 BS. The year was a tragic because of the earthquake and huge amount of the loss of human and properties. The movie release and shooting were also affected for months because of the tragic event.

Note – This is only a list of top movies. These new movies aren’t yet available online. I will share the full movies when the producers make them available online.

10 Hit movies of 2072

Dreams – Anmol KC starrer movie produced and directed by his father Bhuwan KC was superhit movie of 2072.
Woda Number 6 – The movie produced by ‘Tito Satya’ comedy show team – Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula and Nirmal Sharma was superhit this year. It followed the last years hit release ‘Chha Ekan Chha’
Kabaddi Kabaddi – The sequel of superhit movie ‘Kabaddi’ was similar to the original and it also received the similar success.
Pardeshi – The movie made on foreign employment featuring Prashant Tamang and Rajani KC received a very good response from the viewers.
Pashupati Prasad – The movie featuring Khagendra Lamichane and directed by Dipendra K Khanal was liked by the viewers. The movie is unique in the fact that it doesn’t have songs and fights.
Prem Geet – Love story movie by director Sudarshan Thapa was also liked by viewers. The movie features Pradeep Khadka and Pooja Sharma in leading role.
Classic – Another love story movie by director Dinesh Raut featured Aryan Sigdel and Namrata Shrestha in leadign roles.
Resham Filili – The movie was released twice and was successful because of the popularity of the song Jalama.
Nai Nabhannu La 4 – The fourth sequel of ‘Nai Nabhannu La’ franchise was as successful as it’s previous sequels. That is based on the response of the viewers in the last few day. The movie was released on last Friday.
Bhairav – The comeback movie of Nikhil Upreti was also his directorial debut. The movie was a huge commercial success.

Top 10 Most popular movies in 2015

As we bid farewell to 2015 and welcome 2016, I am going to look back into last year and evaluate the most popular movies in the year. There were less number of viewers when compared to previous years. We lost a lot of visitors after the earthquake on April 25.The following ranking is obtained from 60 lakh pageviews xnepali received in 2015.

The top 10 movies by viewers count in xnepali website (in reverse order) are:

10. Kabaddi

The movie by Ram Babu Gurung featuring Dayahang Rai, Nischal Basnet was the superhit movie of 2014. I am surprised it falls in 10th place. I had expected it to be somewhere higher. (Watch ‘Kabaddi’ here)

9. Jerryy

The movie featuring Anmol KC with his girlfriend Anna Sharma was liked by the youths. The movie became very successful and had established Anmol KC as a horse of a long race. (Watch ‘Jerry’ here)

Dashain release crowd, Sushri the new addition to Adhakatti, Thamel Dot Com, Pardeshi, and Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe

This year, Dashain has become crowded by the new releases. In a latest report Aryan Sigdel and Ashika Tamang starred ‘Sushri’ is going to be released in Dashain. Four other movies previously announced their release in Dashain include ‘Thamel Dot Com’, ‘Adhakatti’, ‘Chankhe Shankhe Pankhe’ and ‘Pardeshi’.

Model Ashika Tamang, debuting in female-centric movie ‘Sushri’, is known for her looks similar to the Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. Ashika is featured in action role in the movie. With Aryan and Ashika the movie also features Surbina Karki, Rajaram Poudel, Bikash Chapagain and Mishri Thapa in main roles.

Paradeshi first look trailer and music released, film to release in Dashain

After the success of ‘Gorkha Paltan’, the producers of the movie Rajesh Banshal and director Narayan Rayamajhi have teamed up to produce ‘Paradeshi’. The music and the trailer of the movie was released in a program held on August 19 in Kathmandu.

In the program, the release date of the movie was also announced. The movie is going to release on the Dashain festival. ‘Pardeshi’ features ex-Indian Idol, Prashant Tamang with Rajani KC in leading roles. This is the second movie of ‘Loafer’ debut actress Rajani.

‘Pardeshi’ is a presentation of Oscar Cine Arts – a group of Oscar. The 1998 release movie is produced by the director Deepak Alok (late).The child artists in the movie are Sanjog Koirala and Wilson Rai.

A new movie titled ‘Pardeshi’ featuring ex-Indian Idol, Prashant Tamang and Rajani KC is releasing in theatre in Dashain of 2015. As the movie releases in theatre, enjoy the old hit movie by the same name featuring superstar Rajesh Hamal and Bipana Thapa.
