The world record holding movie – directed by the youngest director in the world, Saugat Bista, ‘Love You Baba’ is a story of a father and a daughter. The movie is a family drama featuring the director’s father and his elder sister in main roles.

Read the news about Saugat Bista being awarded the Guinness World Record certificate. The movie was released in December of 2014. The movie was also screened at the Shinokubo Film Festival in Japan in 2015. The actress Sangam Bista was awarded the best child artist at the NEFTA Film Award 2015. About ‘Janmabhumi’ (2016)

The original ‘Janmabhumi’ was the third movie by Chhabi Raj Ojha (watch all the movies of Chhabi Raj Ojha) featuring his second wife Geetanjali. The director Mohan Niraula decided to make another movie by the same name after 20 years of directing the original movie. The social drama movie has patriotic theme. Originally the movie was scheduled to release in 2015 but, because of the earthquake of the year, the release was delayed.

Arohi Sharma to debut in Hairan after Aanchal Sharma didn’t show up

World record holder youngest director, Saugat Bista, is directing his second movie after the success of his first movie ‘Love You Baba’. The shooting of the second movie titled ‘Hairan’ has started in a garage in Sankhamul.

‘Hairan’ is a comedy movie made on a family drama. The movie features Saugat’s father Gajit Bista, Saroj Khanal, Nishma Ghimire, Satyaraj Acharya, Buddhi Tamang, Puskar Regmi, Sagar Lamsal, Arohi Sharma and others. Arohi Sharma is a new actress debuting in the movie and will be featured in the leading role.

INAS Film Award 2015, winners (full list)

The third edition of INAS Film Award was held in Pragya Bhawan, Kamaladi in Kathmandu. The award ceremony held on Sunday awarded director Tulsi Ghimire with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The award has has a cash prize of Rs. 100,000. The award ceremony was organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN) and the Film Development Board (FDB). In the program, NRN Upendra Mahato appreciated in the improvement in the quality of Nepali movies. Actor and musician Muralidhar expressed his happiness to be honored in a Nepali film award ceremony.

Sunkali and Love You Baba screened in Shinokubo Film Festival in Japan

The movie by the world record holder youngest director, Saugat Bista, is being screened in a film festival in Japan on August 16. With ‘Love You Baba’, Bhojraj Bhatt movie ‘Sunkali’ is also being featured in  Shinokubo Film Festival, in Japan. The festival started on August 15 in Tokyo. (we wrote about the participation of the films in our previous post.)

The world record holder 8-years-old Saugat Bista is participating in the festival with his mother. Similarly, ‘Sunakali’ maker, Bhojraj Bhatt, has also told that the movie show was a success.

Love You Baba and Sunkali to be screened in a film festival in Japan

The movie by the youngest director in the world, Saugat Bista, ‘Love You Baba’ is being selected in a Film festival in Japan. The festival titled Shinokubo Drama and Film Festival will start on August 15. The movie will be screened on August 16 and 20.

The festival will screen movies from 17 different countries including Korea, Japan, China, Singapore Thailand, Belgium and Nepal. With ‘Love You Baba’ another Nepali movie by Bhojraj Bhatt, ‘Sunkali’ will also be screened in the festival.

Saugat Bista offered Rs. 350k scholarship in his school

The Guinness World Records holder for being the youngest movie director, Saugat Bista, has been offered a full scholarship in the school he is going now. The grade 2 student, Saugat, will be able to study till grade 10 for free from the Rs. 350,000 scholarship offered by Suryodaya Secondary School.

Laxya Bahadur KC, the school principal, has told that he and the school is proud of Saugat for his extraordinary job.

Janmabhumi to Janmabhumi, 20 years journey of Mohan Niraula

Director Mohan Niraula debuted as a director in his movie ‘Janmabhumi’ some 20 years ago (click here to watch the original ‘Janmabhumi’) and now, he is releasing the movie by the same name on April 24, 2015 (Baisakh 11, 2072). The censor board has given the movie an ‘U’ certificate, suitable for all the audiences.

Like the original movie, the story of the new movie also helps in creating the sense of nationality to the youths. The director Nirula says that he has used all of his knowledge and experience in the movie to make it a great product. In addition to directing the film, he has also written the script of the movie.

Its official, Saugat Bista is the youngest film director in the world

UPDATE – The Minister of Communication has handed over the World Record certificate to Saugat Bista in a program held in Kathmandu. In addition to the handing of certificate, Saugat’s mother’s birthday was also celebrated in the program. In the following photo Saugat is posing with the certificate in his hand.

Congratulation 8-years-old director, Saugat Bista, you have made it (7 years at the time of release of the film)! The ‘Love you Baba’ director Saugat Bista is awarded the Gunnies World Record of being the youngest film director in the world. In the certificate, it is clearly written that Saugat is "The youngest director of a professionally made feature length film."

Although he was told to be 8-years old in the marketing materials of his film, it turns out that he was a few days shy of being 8-years old at the time of the release of his film. Saugat Bista was born on January 6, 2007 and was 7 years and 340 days when his film ‘Love You Baba’ was released in cinemas on December 12, 2014.
