About ‘The Famous’

The love story movie ‘The Famous’ is about the love not only towards one person but towards more than one person. The triangular-love story movie mostly features new faces and ‘Samaya’ actress Surabhi Jain and ‘ATM’ famed Sabina Karki (Watch ‘Samaya’ here and watch ‘ATM’ here). A double love story and family drama movie, ‘The Famous’ was released on November 18, 2016. (release news) The background of one of the songs in the movie was made entirely by computer graphics.

The director Samir Balami has also written the script of the movie. The cinematographer is Ashok Karki, editor is Suresh Chaudhary, and special effects by Madhukar Balami. The movie features the music of Santosh Pragad and Tanka Budhathoki.

About ‘Nagbeli’

Nepali movie ‘Nagbeli’ is produced by Romian Limbu under the banner of Cheli Maiti International Films banner. The movie is made on the story written by journalist Dipendra Lama. Dipendra is a well known film critic in Nepal. The director Gobind Rai had told that he directed the movie on the suggestion of actress Rekha Thapa. To choreograph the songs in the movie Gobinda had invited his guru, Kamal Rai, from Darjeeling. The premier show of the movie produced by 25-years-old a UK resident, Romina Limbu, was also held in Nuneaton, UK on October 26, 2013. ‘Nagbeli’ was released in July of 2014.

Friday Release – Chhayan and The Famous

On Friday November 18, 2016, two new movies were released in theatres. A Manoj Pandit movie ‘Chhaya’ and Samir Balami’s movie ‘The Famous’ were the new release.

‘Chhayan’

The movie ‘Chhaya’ is about child abuse. According to data, every one girl-child in 4 girls and one in every 6 boy-children are abused in Nepal. The movie produced by Voice of Children and Interact Media addresses the child abuse issue in the society. In many cases, the parents are not aware of such abuses.

The director of ‘Greater Nepal’, ‘Dashdhunga’ and ‘Badhshala’, Manoj Pandit has tried shed light in the ignored aspect of children safety in the society. The movie features Anup Baral, Aruna Karki, Saibrat Acharya, Prabina Khadka, and Prakash Dahal in main roles. The music in the movie is composed by Kali Prasad Baskota.

Friday Release – The Winner

UPDATE – ‘The Famous’ release is postponed to next week. So, ‘The Winner’ is the solo release this week (the post will be updated later). **

Two new movies, both with English names – ‘The Winner’ and ‘The Famous’ are releasing in theater this Friday on November 4, 2016. The movie ‘The Famous’ is directed by Samir Balami and ‘The Winner’ is directed by Hikmat Bista.

The Winner

‘The Winner’ featuring actress Malina Joshi with Maheshman Shrestha, Manchin Shakya, Reshu Tamang and Amit Giri is shot in various locations in Kathmandu, Australia, and Dubai. The movie is told to be the most expensive Nepali movie to date. The film makers have told that they have tried their best to give it a Bollywood / Hollywood flavour.

Nepali Movie – Killa

The movie ‘Killa’ was released last year in theater. The movie presented by Subash Meche features the music of Bikash Chaudhary, cinematography by Saurav Lama, editing by Banish Shah, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj and action by Himal KC.

Because of the political issues in the movie, the Censor Board had rejected it and had asked to re-shot some of the scenes. The Board had asked the film makers to make it neutral in terms of supporting a political party.

Friday Release, Killa and Josh

This Friday on March 14, 2015 two new Nepali movies are releasing on theater – Subash Meche‘s action movie ‘Killa’ and Rishi Neupane‘s movie ‘Josh’. Both the movies are action themed movie and are targeted towards the similar movie audiences. Both the movies feature dancer Priya Rijal in their respective item dances.

The movie made on the story of a person who controls a certain area is the movie ‘Killa’. Killa deemed too much political, censor rejects the film

The movie produced by Subash Meche has landed in trouble after the Censor Board decided that it needs to be re-shoot. The movie titled ‘Killa’ is about the story of the Congress and Nepal Communist Party and the economics of the principle.

The Censor Board has suggested that the movie should be party neutral and shouldn’t advocate for a party (specially when it is not officially sponsored by the party.) The director Himal KC says that the movie is made on a story of a youngster who is confused about the political parties in Nepal. A well known action director, Himal KC, has directed the full featured film. The film features Subash Meche, Surabhi Jain, Wilson Bikram Rai and others. The movie is mostly shot in Jhapa and the area.
