Dramatic demise of Bishnu Bhakta Phuyal, Yo My Love of Tito Satya

In a surprising tragic incident, the senior actor popularly known as ‘Yo My Love’ for his role in popular comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’ had died. The actor was performing in a theatre play at the time of his death. Mid-way in the play, he had suddenly died in the evening of January 3, 2017, Tuesday in Rastriya Naachghar, Jamal, Kathmandu.

The 80-years old actor is the second actor of ‘Tito Satya’ who has died in a month. Last month, another comedy actor popularly known as Ladalam, RP Bhattarai had died. They both have died of heart failure.

When you look at the life of Deepak Raj Giri, it was nothing to laugh at. A comedy actor, Deepak, went through a very tough time while growing up. Some of the depressing moments of Deepak’s life:

  • Mother died when he was 4. As a kid, Deepak didn’t know what mother’s love is.
  • Failed SLC twice. The School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exam is considered the iron gate of our life. Being not able to pass the basic school exam is considered a total failure in Nepali context.
  • Marriage aged 18. Having a responsibility of a wife at an young age is an added responsibility.
  • Ran away from police training. He was about to become a police officer. But, the training proved to be too tough and he had to run away before the completion of the training.
  • Kicked out of home – When he couldn’t get into job and won’t earn a living, his father decided to teach him the life lesson and asked him take his family and live on his own.
  • The movie featuring Deepak Raj Giri in leading role, ‘Sundar Mero Nam’ flopped.

Woda Number Chha celebrated success party, bonus distributed

In a program held in Kathmandu, the ‘Woda Number Chha’ team honored the artists and the technicians involved in the movie. The program organized in Indreni Foodland, the bonus of the income was also distributed. According to the production team, the movie had made a profit of Rs. 16 million.

In the event Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula distributed the bonus and The Token of Love to the artists and technicians of the movie. Among the artists honored in the ceremony were Dayahang Rai, Priyanka Karki, Kedar Ghimire, Jitu Nepal, Rajaram Poudel, Wilson Bikram Rai and Deepa Shree. The theaters who had earned them the most profit were also honored in the ceremony.

Why did Tito Satya end abruptly ?

In a Facebook post, the director and the lead actor of the popular comedy television serial, ‘Tito Satya’, Deepak Raj Giri has announced the end of the serial. In the Facebook post, Deepak has not given the real reason of the end of the serial. He has instead told that, the serial had to end because “the team wasn’t able to address the expectations of the viewers.” That might be one of the reasons, but not the real reason.

Media Hub owes Rs. 5 million to Tito Satya team

The real reason behind the end of the serial is the financial transaction between the ‘Tito Satya’ team and the distributor company Media Hub. Media Hub is the company that has purchased the broadcast slot in Nepal Television. The company deals with the collection the money from the advertisement and paying the serial producers.

600 episodes of Tito Satya, Woda Number Chha released out of Kathmandu

Popular comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’ has celebrated its 600th episode on Thursday, October 1, 2015. It has been 12 years since the weekly comedy serial started its tele-cast in Nepal Television. In the past 12-years the theme of the serial was similar – making fun of the current events and portraying the life of a typical resident of Kathmandu. Because of Kathmandu focus of the serial, the serial wasn’t less popular in places out of the valley. Another similar serial ‘Meri Bassai’ was more of the life in villages and was popular among the people from villages. These two and another serial ‘Jire Khursani’ had been quite popular in Nepal Television for a long time. A new comedy serial ‘Bhadragol’ has also gained a lot of popularity these days.

The director and the writer of the serial, Deepak Raj Giri has realized the theme being the same for a dozen years and has promised to change it for the betterment in coming days. Starting this week, Deepak is planning to change the artists, story, style and the message. Deepak told that he will introduce new artists and Deepak will appear less in the future episodes.

Chha Ekan Chha the first movie of Nirmal Sharma, Gaida to recover investment

The comedy actor commonly known as Gaida after the character he does in ‘Tito Satya’, Nirmal Sharma is also a movie producer. Out of the six movies he has produced so far, only one movie, ‘Chha Ekan Chha‘ has resulted in profit. All his previous movies had flopped.

Last movie he produced was produced jointly with Sudhanshu Joshi – ‘Nepal’ in 2007. The movie also filmed in USA had a huge investment that couldn’t be recovered.

Aryan Sigdel promoting Madhumash in Tito Satya

Last week, actress Rekha Thapa was promoting her latest release ‘Kali‘ in ‘Meri Bassai’. This week, actor Aryan Sigdel is going to be promoting his new release, ‘Madhumash’ in another comedy serial ‘Tito Satya’. ‘Madhumash’ is releasing in theaters on October 25, 2013.

Aryan will be featured in two episodes of the popular comedy serial in Nepal Television. In the past, other actors like , Prashant Tamang, Bhuwan KC, Keki Adhikari etc. had also appeared in television screen to promote their big screen movies.

Tele Award 2067, Tito Satya got most awards

In-spite of the controversies, TAFON-Media Hub Tele Awards 2067, was held successfully in Kathmandu on May 17, 2010. In the Award ceremony, comedy serial, Tito Satya, won the most number of awards (seven out of 14 awards). Deepak Raj Giri of the serial bagged 3 awards for story, script, and direction categories. The serial Tito Satya was also awarded the best comedy serial. Deepashree Niraula got the best actress, Raj Acharya got the best child actor, and cameraman Bashanta Rupakheti bagged the best cameraman awards.

Shivahari Poudel of Jire Khursani got the best actor award and Jitu Nepal of the same serial got the best dialogue award.
