Vehicular movement decreased by 50%

About 50 % vehicles are only running throughout the country due to shortage of petroleum product from few days.

According to Saroj Sitaula, Treasurer of Federation of National Transport Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal, daily 70,000 to 80,000 public vehicles are run but at present, only 20,000 to 30,000 are running. It is affecting badly in the business of transport entrepreneurs who have taken loan to buy vehicles and further they have to pay to transport workers.

So, transport entrepreneurs on Monday staged two hour sit-in at the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) in Babarmahal in the Capital demanding to ease the supply of petroleum products.

Entrepreneurs resort to protest against the acute fuel crisis in various parts of the country.

Fuel shortage has affected even the private vehicles and has decreased its movement.
