In response to the news about refusing to handover the charity money to the rightful owner and his arrest in the case, Dinesh DC has denied any such wrongdoings.
Dinesh is running a reality TV show called "Pratibha ko Khoji" and he had collected money to help treat a sick child. The mother of the child accused Dinesh DC of trying to avoid handing over the money to them. A television ran an interview with the child’s mother, Laxmi Parajuli, who accused Dinesh of keeping the charity money to himself.
Accused of collecting money in the name of disabled people and keeping it for himself, artist Dinesh DC was arrested by the police on November 28, 2010.
Dinesh was released after he handed over the amount to the person in the presence of DSP Dipak Thapa of Mahargung police station.
Dinesh DC had been collecting money through a Kantipur television program named "Khoji Prtibhako" for the treatment of Sanjog Parajuli, a disabled person . He had collected a sum of Rs. 35,000 for the treatment but he kept the money to himself instead of handing over to Sanjog.
Times and again it is proven that, nothing is private in the life of a celebrity. In a latest example, Manisha’s minor disagreement and a hasty Facebook post has created further headache to Manisha’s married life. The original Facebook post was deleted within a few hours and the current post is much better saying, she was “super happy†with her partner.
In the context of divorce rumor in media, the sources closer to Manisha are suspecting one of the Indian medias for not letting the rumor subside. The unnamed Indian media is told to be particularly interested in Manisha Koirala gossips and was responsible to blow the minor event out of proportion. I suspect, they might be pointing towards a Nepali daily, Himalaya Darpan, published from Silgudi, India. Himalayan Darpan, in its Nov. 23 Tuesday’s edition, published a front page article with title “Manisha wants divorce”.
The Manisha family source however, couldn’t deny the misunderstanding between Manisha and Samrat. But, it is also told that the event was minor misunderstanding, not big enough to warrant divorce. Manisha’s parents are told to be saddened by the divorce rumor in the media.
It’s a sad day, a successful Nepali film personality, Gopal Bhutani, has died. I am more saddened by the fact that the Nepal government never offered him his birthright of Nepali citizenship.
After pressure from the persons in film sector, the government had agreed to fulfill his “last wish”. But, the officials from the Home Ministry called an hour after his death to offer the citizenship certificate.
Born as Gopal Tamang in Ilam, Eastern Nepal, Bhutani went to work in Bollywood in 1940s. When he returned back, the government officials refused him the citizenship due to the title “Bhutani” in his name.
The following photo raises a serious concern towards the social responsibilities of the Nepalese police force. They are supposed to teach the people to obey the rules and be safe. But the officer in charge of this group has risked the lives of these people and have given a wrong message to the general public.
I hope they will realize their mistake and act responsibly in the future. The photo taken by Deepkiran Sharma in near Mahankalsthan temple, Military Hospital, and Bir Hospital.
A weekly statistics show that 1 in 4 of all page impressions in the US were in Facebook pages. Hitwise statistics revealed a 60% increase in traffic to Facebook when compared to the same period last year. Now, Facebook is well above its nearest competitor, Google, and well ahead of Yahoo and YouTube. It is to be noted that the data excludes mobile traffic. Due to the social nature, Facebook tends to have more mobile traffic than Google.
Some Indian newspapers are reporting that Manisha posted a message in her Facebook status about her desire to get a divorce. The shocking status post however was removed after a few hours. It is told that the status message told that her married life was a roller coaster ride and she is planning to get a divorce. She also added that the decision will not hurt her parents.
We knew it! And, I feel proud to be one of the voters to make it happen! Congratulation to Anuradha Koirala and all the well-wishers and voters who helped her to make it.
American television network, CNN has announced its CNN Hero of the Year 2010, and the winner is our own Anuradha Koirala. Loved by everybody, including 12,000 women and girls rescued from being sold as sex slaves, Anuradha was named the hero today.

Medini Prasad Adhikari, 135, from Bahuntilpung-3, Sindhuli district is ill and is admitted to the Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu. The voters’ list at the District Election Office, Sindhuli mentions his birth year as 1876 A.D. (that makes him 134 years old)
In the Constituent Assembly election in 2008, he was 131 year old and was the oldest person to vote in Nepal. The event made news in national and international media at that time. But, nobody cared to verify the age.
If verified, he might be the one and the only person who managed to live that long. The oldest person in record was only 122 years old. The current record holder as per Guinness World Records, is 120 years old.
The prime minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, offered cake to all the artists during the inauguration of the only film related television in Nepal, TV Filmy. But, media attention was focused on the hot and top actress in Nepali movie industry, Rekha Thapa.
The photo above, posted by a newspaper in Nepal, Nagariknews, was discussed widely in online forums and Facebook. But, it was not much discussed that PM Nepal fed everybody the cake and only Rekha Thapa got the lime light.
Charles Sobhraj was found using mobile phone, against the rule, of the jail he is kept in. The police had found a mobile phone, SIM card, and an iPod from his room during a surprise check. The police has identified Nihita Biswas as the main culprit in supplying those stuffs to him and is seeking to prosecute her on those charges.
The police went to search in Sobhraj’s room on a tip-off. When they reached there, Sobhraj managed to chew a Ncell SIM card while another SIM was found under his bed. With the SIM, there were two Samsung mobile sets, memory card, memory card reader, headphone, and a charger.
The police has also claimed to have found more important stuffs in Sobhraj’s cell. If convicted Nihita and Sobhraj will be jailed for 6 months and have to pay a fine of Rs 200 (less than $3.00!).
As a saying goes – there won’t be smoke without fire, there is also a reason behind the Manisha Koirala divorce rumor.
After returning from the honeymoon, Manisha Koirala and her husband Samrat Dahal were living in a rented house in Budhanilakantha. These days however, she is living in her parent’s house at Bansbari. That was the reason many suspected that she had misunderstandings with her husband and has left her home to live with her parents.
Bollywood actress of Nepali origin, Manisha Koirala, is facing tough time with rumors of divorce with her newly wed husband, Samrat Dahal. It is not clear how the rumor started but, we hope it started with a minor hiccup, common in one’s married life.
For the third consecutive year, Nepal has become the 11th supplier of international students to the US universities. The total number of students going to the US this year was however less than that of the previous year.
Nepal was 13th biggest supplier of international students back in 2007 (7,754 students). With 15.2% increase (8,936 students), Nepal was in 11th rank in 2008. 2009 saw a huge, 30 percent, increase (11,581 students) in the number of Nepali students in US but, the ranking remain the same 11th.
