After 20 years and hundreds of movies in Bollywood, the Indian movie world, Manisha Koirala did her second Nepali movie under the direction of Dipendra K. Khanal.
The movie named "Dharma" will mark as the reentry of Manisha in Nepali cinema. After her marriage with Samrat Dahal, she is seeking ways to settle down in Nepal. Her desire to produce a Nepali movie can be taken as the indication that she wants to move back home.
Talking in a program organized in the World Trade Center in Kathmandu for the release of audio of Dharma, Manisha told that she is planning to produce a Nepali movie. She also told that she has already started working on the script.
Nose, in our society represents ‘pride’ and the Nepali mountaineers residing in the US have asked the organizers to ‘save the nose’ while conducting ‘Save the Himalaya’ program in New York.
The Forest Minister, Deepak Bohara, had collected Rs. 1.5 million from 10 mountaineers in Nepal to ‘take them to the US’. The Embassy, decided otherwise and Mr. Bohara had to go to the US alone.
23 Nepali mountaineers have decided to boycott the program amidst the controversy of the top minister being too greedy in his last days at office. The fastest Everest climber of 1998 and World Record holder of the 2000 ed. of Guineess Book, Kaji Shrepa, is leading the 23 Mt. Everest summiteers to boycott the Save the Himalayas rally in New York.
If you live in Nepal, and are subscribed to internet speed more than 1mbps, forget about your privacy. The police are snooping on those high-speed internet users.
After a couple of failures on internet banning attempts, police has thought of this new tactics to deal with illegal users of internet. Previously, police had directed ISPs to block sex related sites. The step proved to to short-sighted approach, as I suspected, and implementation was not done effectively. Some of the ISPs (e.g. Subishu) have blocked xNepali.com, and hence we are seeing lower than usual traffic from Nepal these days.
After the failure of identifying which site to block and which not, the police blocked 5 voip sites. The very next day, Google announced its internet phone service which offered free calls to US and Canada. Thank god, they didn’t try blocking Google.
Nepali actress of Bollywood, Manisha Koirala, participated in the shooting of a Direct-To-Home Television Channels Service (Home TV DTH) advertisement recently. The advertisement was previously set to feature actor Bhuwan KC but in the last minute KC was replaced by Koirala for the advertisement.
After we published the screenshots and details on how hdnepal.com is doing the similar business as that of the site being run by Kasaju brothers, the site has removed the reference to the movies it was selling.
The front page of the site is redesigned and reference to movies is completely removed. Here are the comparison on how they have changed the layout of the site:
Arrest of Kasaju brothers on the charges of distributing movies illegally in Nepal has raised some issues previously considered off-limits in Nepalese contest. It is believed that Nepali people can’t afford to purchase Hollywood movies legally and the only way they can watch is by illegal means. After the arrest of the owners of cybersansar.com and givemehd.com, the sites are now offline and people operating similar businesses are reconsidering their business practices.
While searching, I found a similar site, offering similar movies and designed by the same company owned by Kasaju brothers. The website hdnepal.com, is still online and it also has similar information and services to that of givemehd.com. According to the site, the service is provided by Lokesh Oli and the physical office is located in Babar Mahal, kathmandu.
The operators of the largest modeling website in Nepal, cybersansar.com were arrested on copyright infringement charges. Apart from cybersansar.com, they were operating givemehd.com, a membership website to distribute high quality movies.
The police has confirmed the arrest of Abhinav Kasaju and Dipankar Kasaju, the owner brothers on copyright infringement charges. Continue reading
A demonstration of waterproof laptops in Hotel Radisson reminded me of the ‘amphibian watches’ sold on the streets of Bhotahity.
We have seen a lot of ‘waterproof’ wrist-watches being sold in the streets. These amphibian watches are actually being dipped in salt-water and normal water easily damage them. So, What You See (WYS) is not What You Get (WYG). The difference between the photo above and below: the chicks on the photo above are models on tights and the one below can’t afford to be slim and sexy enough!
