Item dancer Archana Dellala to be featured in Bengali movie

Popular item dancer of Nepali movies, Archana Dellala, is going to be featured in a Bengali movie. The movie titled, ‘Sada Kalo Akasher Canvase’ will feature Archana in lead roles. In a press meet held in Kathmandu on February 2, the director Tanvin Rafik  told that he has seen the talent in Archana for the role.

The movie, named ‘Mayako Parichaya’ in Nepali language, will be shot mostly in Nepal. After the completion of 60 percent shooting in Nepal, remaining part will be shot in Bangladesh.

Jharana and Suman Singh romance in Premika, releasing on February 28

A movie featuring the romance of Jharana Thapa and Suman Singh, ‘Premika’ is going to release on February 28, 2014. The love story movie directed by Ramji Lamichane received an ‘U’ certificate from the Censor Board.

With Jharana and Suman, the movie also features Sushil Pokharel in leading role. The movie features the thrills of Roshan Shrestha, music of Dinesh Sunam and cinematography of Durga Paudel. Other backstage artists include – Banish Shah in editing, Sushil Pokharel in script writing, Alish Karki in background score. The movie is produced under the banner of Shuva Shanti Films.

Premier of Jholey held in Dharan, Priyanka witnesses an ‘amazing response’

A red carpet charity premiere of upcoming movie ‘Jholey’ was held in Dharan. ‘Jholey’ actors Priyanka Karki and Dayahang Rai were in Dharan for the promotion of the movie and to participate in the premier show.

After the premier, Priyanka told that the turnover of the viewers was huge and the response was ‘amazing’. Priyanka said, “People were laughing and laughing and laughing!”

The charity show was organized by Nepal’s Most Desirable. ‘Jholey’ is directed by Dipendra K Khanal and is scheduled to release on Falgun 9.

Actor Dayahang arrived at the promotion of the movie in Dharn amidst the mourning the death of his father.

Priyanka was with her grandmother to watch the movie. She looked great in cream colored gown.

Three Nepali movies – Mokshya, Jhola and Mutu releasing on Friday

Three Nepali movies ‘Mokshya’, ‘Jhola’ and ‘Mutu’ are releasing in theaters on Friday, February 7.

Musical dram and biopic ‘Mokshya’ is considered to be one of the best movies of the year based on the review of the preview shows. The movie made on a real story of a musical band is also a story of the director Prabin Shrestha himself. The movie produced by Sunil Manandhar features Koshis Chhetri and Benisha Hamal in lead roles.

Samjhana to bring Rekha Thapa and Namrata Shrestha together, in a movie

In Nepali film industry, actress Rekha Thapa and Namrata Shrestha are known not to like each other. If a latest report is true, they seem to have sorted out the issues and are willing to work together in an upcoming project. The company that produced upcoming movie ‘Megha’, Sawasta Entertainment, is planning to feature Rekha, Namrata and Manisha’s brother Siddhartha Koirala in an unnamed movie.

We reported about the new development in easing the relationship between the two actress during Tihar celebration at Karishma Manandhar‘s house. Rekha and Namrata were seen together with Samjhana Upreti Rauniar, lighting fire crackers.

Nir Shah to make a movie and a television serial on Seto Bagh

Based on one of the most successful historical novel by Diamond Shumsher Rana, ‘Seto Bagh’, Nir Shah is planning to make a movie and a television serial. On the occasion of Shree Panchami, Nir Shah organized a program to announce the movie and the megha-serial. The shooting of the serial is expected to start in a couple of weeks.

The television serial will be spanned in 91 parts and the movie will be of length 2.5 hours. The shooting of both the serial and the movie will start at the same time. In the program Nir Shah told that he will make the serial and the movie the photocopy of the novel. In the movie, he will also present the last 30 days of the Rana prime minister Jung Bahadur Rana.

Namrata Shrestha to be featured in an item dance in Adhakatti

In the debut movie of journalist Subrat Acharya as a director – ‘Adhakatti’, an item dance is made on the name of actress Namrata Shrestha. Subrat approached Namrata to dance on the song, ‘Kya Kamal, Babal Chau Namrata …’ and she agreed.

This will be the first time Namarata will dance in any item dance. In the movie, Namrata will appear in a character of a film actress. The lyrics written by Ranjit Acharya has music of Rajan Ishan. The voices are given by Yuvraj Chaulagai, Nisha Desar and Rajan Ishan.

Biraj Bhatta to do Raju Giri movie, Yuvraj

Director Raju Giri and producer/actor GK Sharma are planning to bring Biraj Bhatt back in Nepali movie in their upcoming movie ‘Yuvraj’. The movie to be made on gangster theme is written by Raju Giri and GK Sharma is the executive producer. The movie to be made under Everest Entertainment, UAE banner, is going to be shot mostly in UAE.

With more than 70 percent scenes shot in UAE, the movie will feature actors like Biraj Bhatt, GK Sharma, Poojana Pradhan, Suvekchya Thapa and others. The director is also in talks with Nisha Adhikari for probable role in the movie.

‘Producer’ producer admits low viewers turn-out

The producer of the movie currently running in theater ‘Producer’ – Raj Kumar Rai has admitted that very few viewers have gone to theater to watch the movie. He added, the few viewers who have watched the movie have liked it.

The movie released on December 31 is made on the inside story of Nepali film industry. Rai admitted, general film viewers don’t care what happens backstage and they are more interested in social events and issues related to them. People in film industry have liked the movie but, that is not a big crowd.

NEFTA Award – Aryan Sigdel and Richa Sharma awarded best actors, Kathmandu declared the best movie

In the film award ceremony held in Malaysia, actor Aryan Sigdel won the best actor award from the movie ‘Mero Love Story’. In actress category, the best actress award was awarded to Richa Sharma from the same movie. The best movie award and the best director award was awarded to ‘Kathmandu’ and it’s director Aakash Adhikari respectively.

Actor Nir Shah was honored by ‘Abhinaya Shiromani’ award in the event.

The script of ‘Kalo Pothi’ awarded Rs. 5.5 million cash prize

The director of ‘Basulli’, the movie chosen to be featured in Venice Film Festival, Min Bahadur Bham is awarded a cash prize equivalent to Rs. 55 lakh after wining an script competition. He has won the Swiss government (SDC) script competition of value $60,000. The prize amount is the production fund awarded to Min Bahadur to produce the movie.

The story and the script of the movie titled ‘Kalo Pothi’ is written by the director Min Bahadur himself. The movie is going to be made on the geography and life style of Karnali area. The artists of the film are yet to be finalized.

Nandita KC to be featured in Baabari

Actress Nandita KC is confirmed to be featured in the leading role of director Suman Ghimire’s move ‘Baabari’. The movie being presented by Smarika Film is produced by Sita Simkhada. Bhaskar Baniya is going to be featured opposite to Nandita KC in the movie.

Nafarkiyakaharu won the 60 Seconds Film Festival

60 Seconds Film Festival organized by Interface Nepal concluded by awarding Sanjay Chaulagain’s direction ‘Nafarkiyekaharu’ the winner. The festival held at Theater Village, Lazimpat featured 48 short films in the final. The winner of the festival received Rs. 25,000 cash prize.

Kushal Shrestha’s ‘Colors of Life’  and Shanaka Rijal’s ‘Udan’ were awarded the second and third place. ‘Colors of Life’ received Rs. 15,000 cash prize and ‘Udan’ received Rs. 10,000.

‘Chha Ekan Chha’ piracy, 22-years old arrested

The producers of ‘Chha Ekan Chha‘ organized a press meet to announce that a 22-year-old Sandip Magar was arrested by the police for recording the movie in theater and releasing it in YouTube.

In the press meet, Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula and Nirmal Sharma felt satisfaction on the arrest of the pirate. The producers were worried about the overseas market that had already earned them 40 lakh in Rights.
