National Film Award to be held on July 28

The film award organized by the government, National Award is going to be held on July 28 at the residence of the president, Ram Baran Yadav. The award ceremony being organized by the Film Development Board (FDB) will award National Film Awards in eight different categories plus a Lifetime Achievement Award. 

The award value of Lifetime Achievement Award will be Rs. 351,111 and a trophy. Other awards will be awarded to the best film, best director, best actor (male), best actor (female), cinematographer, editor and best ethinic film.

This year’s award ceremony is expected to be a small event with selected few invitees. The Board is expected to reveal the list of winners on July 26.

Last year’s National Film Award was held for the past three years at the same time. The winners were chosen from the movies released in the Nepali year 2068, 2069 and 2070. This year’s winners will be related to the movies released in the year 2071 BS. Actress Rekha Thapa had boycotted the last year’s award and had accused the jury of asking money for the award.
