About ‘Samaya’

The movie ‘Samaya’ was produced and presented by the actress Mausami Sen Malla under SM Films Banner. The movie was announced in 2012 and was released in 2013 (full details of the movie can be found in the list of links at the end of this post). Although promoted heavily, the movie wasn’t successful in theater. The movie features the music of Laxman Shesh and Sujil Karmacharya. Action by Roshan Shrestha, choreography by Gobinda Rai, editing by Badri Lamichhane, script by Brajesh Khanal, cinematography by Bishnu Kalpit.

Star Cast of ‘Samaya’

The movie features superstar Rajesh Hamal and action actor Sushil Chhetri along with the actress Mausami Malla. The movie introduced two new actors – Mausami’s son Vicky Malla and actress Surabhi Jain. At the time of the making of the movie, Surabhi had named herself Surabhi Bista (after her mother’s last name). She later changed it to Jain (the father’s last name). She later told that it was because of the insecurity she felt because of the Indian sounding name. Vicky was also featured in ‘Nagbeli’. But, after that, Vicky is not seen in any other movies so far. Surabhi and Vicky were in affair during the shooting of the movie. They later broke up. Vicky married another girl, Bhumika in 2015.

The producer and actress, Mausami Malla is also not seen in movies these days. The actress who debuted in ‘Kanchi’ at a young age had given birth to her son, Vicky, eve before she entered the film industry. The is divorced and is living by herself, running a business.
