Rajesh Hamal might get married in 2013

In a latest news report, one of the most popular Nepali actor, , might get married in this Baisakh (April/May, 2013). Hamal had previously admitted about having an affair with a girl from Biratnagar. Although he hasn’t revealed the identity of his girlfriend, he says, the girl is not from the movie industry. Some of the media have rumored the girl to be Madhu Bhattarai but, Rajesh Hamal hasn’t confirmed it to be Madhu.

Rajesh Hamal admitted that the girl is not fully committed so she might back up in the last minute. But, as far as Rajesh Hamal is concerned, he seems to be all ready to plunge into a married life.

It is not the first time Rajesh Hamal had announced his marriage. He had also announced his marriage in 2010 but, later postponed on the suggestion of a Jyotish. Whatever may be the case we, at xnepali, would like to wish him all the best for upcoming marriage of the 50-year-old actor.

Facebook – Movie Review

The movie produced by actress Jharana Thapa, ‘Facebook’ was released all over Nepal on Firday, September 7. The director, Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ has also written the suspense thriller movie.The movie related to the social networking site Facebook features Jharana Thapa, Swatantra Pratap Shah, , Sunil Thapa, and Subash Thapa in lead roles.

Story:
Facebook is a story of a girl named Sanskriti (Jharana Thapa) who falls in love with Yodin (Swatantra Pratap). Yodin, a rich NRI living in Singapore, knew Sanskriti in the social networking site, Facebook. After an online affair, Yodin flew back to Nepal to marry Sanskriti. In Nepal, Yodin’s uncle Harish (Sunil Thapa) sends them to a theatre to watch movie where Yodin was kidnaped by a gang. The police thought Harish was behind the kidnapping of Yodin. I don’t want to ruin your movie watching experience by divulging the secret.

Miss Teen 2012 is Nilu Khadka

Nilu Khadka has won this year’s Miss Teen title in an event organized in Kathmandu on September 12, 2012.

The first runner-up of Miss Teen 2012 is Samikshya Siwakoti and the second runner-up is Nancy Bogati.

In a Facebook comment, the first runner-up Samikshya has responded with satisfaction on being the second in the contest.

Facebook page of Samikshya and Nancy Bogati are flooded with congratulation messages (Nilu’s Facebook page is private so, we couldn’t peek in it).

Maoists want ban on Hindi and English movies in Nepal

In a letter handed over to the Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, CPN Maoist has asked the government to ban the import of Hindi and English movies and magazines in Nepal. The letter was handed over by the senior leader CP Gajurel.

The letter includes 77 demands in which the 11th point mentions about foreign movies and magazines. The letter says that the foreign movies and magazine have affected the Nepali society and should be controlled. Although the prime minister has promised to implement some of the demands as soon as possible, he didn’t specify particular points of his interest.

The movie is made on the script of it’s director Deepak Rayamajhi who is also Rajesh Hamal’s maternal uncle. The story of the movie is is written by Kuber and the dialogue is written by Mohan Niraula.

Rajesh Hamal's foster-sister Maina Suchikar died

Nepali top actor ‘s foster sister of 19 years, Maina Suchikar, has died of pneumonia on Monday Sept 10, 2012.  The disabled lady died while being treated for the last ten days in Shankarapur Hospital in Jorpati, Kathmandu.

While shooting for a movie named ‘Aparadh‘ in Khagendra Nava-Jeevan Kendra, Rajesh Hamal met Maina and started calling her his sister. After that day, Rajesh Hamal used to visit his sister on every Bhai-Tika and he also used to celebrate his birthday with her.

Rajesh Hamal is currently in a WWF program in Nepalgunj and woldn’t be ab
le to attend the last ritual of Maina.

Miss UK Nepal 2012 is Durga Gurung

This year’s Miss UK Nepal crown was awarded to Durga Gurung in a ceremony held in London. The Miss UK Nepal 2011, Gaumaya Gurung, crown the news title holder in Durga Gurung in the program with various cultural programs in between. Parika Ale was selected the first runner-up and Nayan Gurung was the second runnerup of the beauty contest.

The winner of the title Durga also received a cash prize of £800 and the second title of Best Figure. The second runner-up Parika Ale, who was the Miss Talent in the contest received a cash prize of £500. The second runner-up Nayan G
urung, who also received Miss Personality title was awarded a cash prize of £300.

Khusbu and Proshesh- College Ambassador 2012

This year’s winners of College Ambassador 2012 are Proshesh Karki (in male contest) and Khusbu Pradhan (in female contest) who secure 80.5 points and 84 respectively to win the title in the event held at Rastriya Nachghar on 8th September.

'Sirish Ko Phool', a movie tribute to Parijat

One of the best creation of Parijat (Bishnu Kumari Waiba), ‘Sirish Ko Phool’ is made into a movie and was premiered in Jaya Nepal on September 2, 2012. It took almost four years to complete the movie directed by a Japanese director, Toshiki Itoh. Itoh had previously directed another Nepali movie ‘Kathputali’.

The book ‘Sirish ko Ful’ (The Blue Mimosa) is also adapted in the literature curriculum of some colleges in some English-speaking countries, including that Maryland University, USA. The book is a story of a run-away soldier during the World War II, Suyogbir.

The
movie features actors like Ganesh Lama, Sharmila Gurung and Saujanya Subba in main roles. The movie also features Basundhara Bhusal, Gopal Bhutani, Santosh Lama, Shyam Rai, Indira Gole, Ganesh Munal and Laxmi Bhusal.

Nepali Movie – Facebook (pre-release review)

Nepali movie ‘Facebook’ is releasing on  September 7, 2012. The movie directed by Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’ features Jharana Thapa, Swatantra Pratap Shah, Wilson Bikram Rai, , and Sunil Thapa in leading roles.

The movie features the , cinematography of Sanjaya Lama, fight direction of Roshan Shrestha, music direction of Sunil Bardewa, choreography of Kabiraj Gahatraj, editing of Banish Shah, and the story, direction, script and dialogue of Suraj Subba ‘Nalbo’.

Jharana Bajracharya's 'Safe Landing'

Because of the failure of her comeback movie ‘Kohi Mero’, actress Jharana Bajracharya had announced her retirement from the Nepali movie industry. It seems, she found a safe landing in a movie by Rahul Agrawal and Basanta Bhandari, ‘Safe Landing’. Jharana is featured as a police officer in the movie.

‘Safe Landing’ is going to be made on the story of drug mafia and actor Niraj Baral will be featured in a negative role of a gangste
r. The movie will also feature Sushil Pandey, Sumina Ghimire, Dipsikha Shahi, BS Rana and Rashmi Bhatta. The movie is being directed by a Malaysian director Sandeep Joseph.

After ‘Kohi Mero’ and the retirement announcement, she had signed in a movie of Prasanna Poudel, ‘My Best Friend’ but, later Priyanka Karki was offered the role.

Will Arunima Lamsal return back from US?

Actress Arunima Lamsal has flown to the USA on 4th September 2012 with her husband. She has left her 10 month-old daughter with her mother.

At the time when most of the artists visiting USA have stayed there permanently, some think Arunima might also have such intentions. When asked, Arunima told that she is going to the USA for a visit and she doesn’t have any intention to stay there.

In the past actresses like , Pooja Chand, Saranga Shrestha, and Sajja Mainali are living in the USA. Among the male actors, Saroj Khan and Ramesh Upreti are also living in the USA. Actor Suresh Marahatta returned back after living eight years in the US as Resh Marahatta and Karishma Manandhar has also returned after receiving the US green card.

Movie Review – Full Stop

Pre-release review of Full Stop was posted previously.

Nepali feature film ‘Full Stop’, promoted as a thriller movie, was released all over Nepal on August 31, 2012. The movie received an adult certificate due to some of the thrilling scenes that may not be suitable for the audiences of age below 16 years. ‘Full Stop’ features Binita Baral and Sabin Shrestha in lead role and is directed by Kamal Krishna Poudel.

Miss Global International 2012 is Priyanka Bhandari

The 17 year-old beauty, Priyanka Bhandari was awarded the Miss Global International 2012 title an event held in Kathmandu on Monday, September 3, 2012. She was selected from 17 participants from different parts of the country were competing to win the title.

Miss Global International 2012 Priyanka received the crown and a cash prize of rupees two lakh. The first runner-up of the contest Priya Sigdel received a cash prize of Rs. 80,000 and the second runner-up  Sonu Thapa Magar received a cash prize of Rs. 40,000. Sonu Thapa Magar was also awarded the titles Miss T
alent, and Miss Friendship.
