Nepali artists welcome Team Nepal, Gold Medal winner at SAG Football

A huge crowd was gathered at the Tribhuvan airport in Kathmandu to welcome the Gold Medal winner in Football at the 12th South Asian Game (SAG).Â The victory was the first in the last 23 years. The win was important after the police arrested various players accusing them of match fixing in various international games.

Among the public present at the airport to welcome the victorious Team Nepal, were some well known artists. Among the artists were Deepak Raj Giri, Deepa Shree Niraula, Nirmal Sharma, Jitu Nepal, singers Pramod Kharel, singer Komal Oli, actress Chhulthim Gurung and Yuvaraj Chaulagain.

Team Nepal had won the final game against Indian team in the final of the football game in SAG. The team arrived in Tribhuvan Airport at 4:45 on Wednesday.

The employees of Airport authority had gone to the aircraft to welcome the victorious team. After the welcome ceremony, the team members were taken in an Army vehicle in a victory rally. The rally went from Tilganga Chowk, Gaushala, Rato Pul, Gyaneshowr, Kamal Pokhari and ended at the Dasarath stadium. A celebration program was held at the stadium.

In an event held in Kathmandu, well known director Nischal Basnet has married a new actress in Nepali film industry, Swastima Khadka. In aÂ private event held on February 17, 2016, among his friends and family, Nischal has married and taken Swastima home.Â In the evening, a reception party was held to celebrate the marriage. The wedding was not a surprise event, as Swastima and Nischal were engaged in December, and the marriage was being planned since then. The news of their engagement however was a surprise event for many. Nepali Movie – Killa

The movie ‘Killa’ was released last year in theater. The movie presented by Subash Meche features the music of Bikash Chaudhary, cinematography by Saurav Lama, editing by Banish Shah, choreography by Kabiraj Gahatraj and action by Himal KC.

Because of the political issues in the movie, the Censor Board had rejected it and had asked to re-shot some of the scenes. The Board had asked the film makers to make it neutral in terms of supporting a political party.

A presentation of Mountain River and Tuka Entertainment, Nepali movie ‘Manjari’, was liked by the viewers. Although the movie was accused of being a copy of a South Indian movie, it was told to be based on a true story. The movie by Ganesh Dev Panday, had also faced some hurdle in the censor board. Because of the issue, the release of the movie was delayed by a month from March end to the star of May. The film makers had also accused a journalist of blackmailing for advertisement. The music and the songs by Kali Prasad Baskota had been very popular among audience.

Celebrities wish the soul of Sushil Koirala rest in peace

Nepali celebrities have remembered the ex-PM of Nepal Sushil Koirala on his death on February 9, 2016. The most hurt of the celebrities is the Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala as Sushil Koirala is her own uncle by relationship. In a Facebook message Manisha wrote: “All my fev people are leaving one by one. Helplessly I watched them goâ€¦ RIP” and share a photo of herself with Sushil.

In the following video, it is claimed that Sushil Koirala had wanted to be a Hollywood actor in his youth. But, his dream wasn’t fulfilled because of the political unrest in the country. He was known to love movies and he used to watch movies in his free time.

Loot 2 in making, Nischal Basnet interview

The director of the superhit movie ‘Loot’, Nischal Basnet, has told that he has found the story of the sequel of the movie ‘Loot 2’. It seems every successful movies (and event unsuccessful movies) are being made into sequels.

He told that he has also started the writing of the script of the movie. Talking to Setoparda, Nischal told that the formal announcement of the sequel will be done in near future.

Rekha Thapa promotes Rampyari in Malaysia, sings Arko Juni Kunni

Actress Rekha Thapa has finally participated in a program in Malaysia after three years of canceling her participation in the last minute. Rekha has visited Malaysia this year with her mother and her elder sister to participate in Friendship Dhamaka – 7. In the event running from February 6 to February 10, other artists including actor Sunil Thapa, actor Dinesh Thapa, singer Parmod Kharel, music video director Shiva BK, actor Kishor Bhandari, actress Reshma Timilsina and others are participating.

The Nepali movie ‘Chankhe Shankha Pankhe’ was released in theater on September 25, 2015. The movie featuring Sudarshan Thapa in leading role is also produced and directed by himself with producer Santosh Sen Thakuri. The movie was previously scheduled to release on May 15. But, because of April 25 earthquake, the release date was postponed. The movie was highly promoted in various avenues including some Indian websites.

Nikhil Upreti signed a new movie before flying to the USA

The action actor Nikhil Upreti has flown to the USA on Friday, February 5 for the show of his movie ‘Bhairav’ in California, USA. The comeback movie of Upreti, ‘Bhairav’ features him as the producer, director and the leading actor. Made on the story of a police officer, ‘Bhairav’ was well received by the viewers.

Before flying to the USA, Nikhil Upreti has signed a new film of director Madhusudhan Bhattarai. The details of the unnamed movie is not available yet.
