Film workers in strike – FDB to be locked down on Wednesday

9 different organizations of film workers have united to force the government to comply with their demand. It has been almost three weeks a 9-point agreement was signed between film workers and minister of communication Raj Kishor Yadav. But, the agreement hasn’t been implemented. The film workers are going to lock down the Film Development Board office to force the government to comply with the agreement.

In a press meet organized on January 8, 2013, the lock down on Wednesday was announced. In the program, Suresh Darpan Pokharel, Nir Shah, Manoj KC, Yogendra Shrestha, Dinesh Pakhrin, Mausami Malla, Nawal Khadka, Raj Kumar Rai and Bimal Poudel spoke on their demands.

Four movies releasing this week

This week, on December 14, 2012 four Nepali movies are releasing in the theaters. Movies ‘Shyana’ and ‘Karbhahi’ are releasing all over Nepal, ‘Bhul Bhaya Maaf Gara’ is releasing in Kathmandu after it’s 2-years-old release in theaters out of Kathmandu. ‘Love You Man’ is releasing in the theaters out of Kathmandu.

SP Movie Maker’s ‘Shyana’ is directed by Sameer Miya and produced by Suraj Pradhan. The movie made on love story features actor Prasant Giri, Khusbu Khadga, Saloni Gurung, and Madan Shrestha in main roles. The movie was shot in various locations in Pa
lpa, Lumbini, Narayangad and Kathmandu. The movie features the cinematography of Binod Sapkota, choreography of Ratna Joshi and Suresh Chaudahri. The special effects in the movie is also told to be unique and interesting.

Nepali Movie – 3 Lovers (pre-release review)

Nepali movie ‘3 Lovers’ is releasing on  December 7, 2012. The movie directed by Suresh Darpan Pokharel features Priyanka Karki, Devu Shrestha, Niraj Baral, Pooja Sharma, Dhirendra Thapa, and Suman Gaire in leading roles.

'3 Lovers' team not satisfied by PG certificate, releasing on Dec 7

The censor board has issued a ‘PG’ certificate to the movie ‘3 Lovers’. The movie made on love story features some kiss scenes and bed scenes that are supposed to be not suitable for kids to watch alone.  The director Suresh Darpan Pokhrel has told that he was surprised by the judgment of the censor board.

‘3 Lovers’ premiered in Israel

On November 16 and 17, Nepali movie ‘3 Lovers’ was premiered in Israel. The movie was shown in Tel Avaib on 16th and in Haifa, Al-Khoury on 17th. The fund collected from the show was used in social causes.

The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters in Nepal on December 7 (Mangsir 22, 2069). The movie features Priyanka Karki, Niraj Baral, Devu Shrestha, Pooja Sharma, Dhirendra Thapa and Suman Gaire in main roles. The movie is directed by Suresh Darpan Pokha

Artists organized a special treat for Richa Ghimire and Sanchita Luitel

Nepali actresses Richa Ghimire and Sanchita Luitel and going to give birth within a couple of months. Richa is expecting in a month and Sanchita in two months. To welcome the new child, Nepali movie artists organized a special ceremony. In Nepali tradition, to be moms are fed beaten rice and yogurt (dahi chiura) before the childbirth.

Youths in Kathmandu have organized a anti-strike motorbike rally in Kathmandu. The event organized in part with the help of Facebook group named "DIE Nepal Bandh DIE" and through the exchange of SMS with message:

Miss U… shooting Photos

The shooting of Dilip Rayamajhi’s movie “Miss U…” was recently completed in Malaysia. The director Suresh Darpan Pokharel and the film crew have recently returned back after 35 days of shooting there. Here are some of the photos of the shooting (Photo credits – Suresh Darpan).

One of the Namrata Shrestha was reportedly paid Rs. 400,000 for her role in the movie. In contrast to the general trend of paying higher to male actors in Nepali movies, the lead actor Barun Rana was told to receive only Rs. 125,000  to lead the movie. The producer and one of the best dancer in the Nepali film industry, Dilip Rayamajhi, was also reported to make the movie a dance sensation.

Miss U features Namrata Shrestha, Barun Rana, Sujata Sitaula, and Dilip Rayamajhi in the leading roles.

Miss Who? Namrata Shrestha to act in ‘Miss U’

Actor Dilip Rayamajhi, along with other producers of 12 different countries, is going to produce a new movie named ‘Miss U’ in which, Namrata Shrestha will be the leading actress. The movie under the direction of Suresh Darpan Pokharel will also feature Dilip Rayamajhi and newcomer Barun Rana. Barun has acted in a number of music videos before and he has also acted with Namrata in a music video of Mallika Karki, ‘yeti dheri mancheharuko bhidma…’. The music director of the movie is Babu Bogati.

The movie will start its shooting from Singapore and Malaysia soon.
