The vision and mentality of a law maker of the country and one of the member of cabinet, that is supposed to prepare the constitution, made me very sad.
Kantipur TV called her in a live prime-time TV interview and she kept talking on and on ignoring the indication of the host about the time constraints. She talked for a full 13 minutes but there was nothing new and she was repeating herself with unnecessary details of the incidents. The rude reasoning for the extended talk didn’t make any sense either.
She said, “you called me to talk now you can’t stop me. You can’t say you don’t have time!â€Â. You can listen to the video (in Nepali, courtesy – mysansar) at the end of the post.
Let me go to the background. When Minister Begum was visiting her home district she was expecting the CDO to come to airport with garlands. When he didn’t show up she got angry. She called the CDO and asked for a vehicle. The vehicle sent by the CDO also wasn’t of her taste. She was very angry so she went to the CDO office and beat him.
Minister Begum proved wrong the general belief that politicians are diplomatic in dealing with people. She also told that she will disregard the arrest warrant and won’t hand herself in.
Even an atheist is inclined to say “God save our the country from such politiciansâ€Â.
If you want to read more about the incident, a forum member has posted a nice post about the incident – when post is bigger than the self .
Here is the video of the interview (in Nepali):
Is this what we are waiting for…… a lawless minister/s for whom there is a no law….
If such incidents are ignored by government for saving their political seat then surely the worst situation in Nepal is yet to come…
