I had talked a lot about Malvika subba in past. For example:

I talked about pregnancy announcement
How did Malvika Subba miraculously lost 22 kg in 6 months?

Mother in 40s
After 2 brother’s Malvika Subba was born as a third child to her parents on July 19, 1981. Her mother was in her 40s at the time of her birth. It was the pressure of her father for a daughter she had agreed for the third child. Taking that cue, Malvika had decided to bear child in her 40s. But, because of the lockdown and uncertainty, she decided to get pregnant.

Inter-caste Marriage
Malvika’s father was a police officer and a Subba and her came from a Brahmin family. In their time neither her mother Sashikala’s family not her father’s family would have approved that marriage. While Shashikala, was training to be a nurse in a scholarship in India she met the attractive Nepali police officer, who was in some sort of training from the police force. They fell for each other in India. Despite of family disapproval, they got married in Kathmandu. At that time, inter-caste marriage was a taboo. As expected, Sashikala’s parents were very unhappy and they cut-off their ties with the daughter after she married Malvika’s father.

Personal details of Malvika

Malvika was a very smart kid since her childhood. Her elder brothers went to government schools, Malvika got an opportunity to study in private school. She was always one of the top three students in her class. She was also a sports person and a tom-boy like personality. Being tall and smart kept her away from most of the boys.

She had various suitors, but she wasn’t willing to commit herself to a steady relationship. That was until she met Riyaj Shrestha. Malvika met Riyaj when she was in the USA to participate in ANA Fashion show in 2009. At that time, it had been half-decade Riyaj had been living in the USA.

Later in 2011 Riyaj and Malvika met again when Riyaj came to Kathmandu. Before meeting each other, both Malvika and Riyaz had decided that marrying was not worth the trouble, and they had decided to remain single and live alone for the rest of their lives. At the time of their meeting, Riyaj had been a Salsa dance instructor for eight years. Malvika started learning Salsa with Riyaj and fell in love.
