The Department of Commerce (DoC), in response to Adhikary’s complaint, has filed a case of fraud against the manufacturer at the Kathmandu District Court for cheating its consumers.
Adhikary lodged a complaint at the DoC on February 23, 2010. After the investigation at the DoC, the company was found guilty and it has filed the case in the KDC.
The noodle company officials Lekh Raj Gautam, sales manager, told that the coupon was a mistake and they never intended to offer a real car to the winner. He also told that it "was a printing mistake" and that they have already apologized through a notice in the Annapurna Post daily.
It was like adding a ‘KHA’ in front of the ‘car’ when it was time to give away the prize.
