Before being replaced by Khagendra Thapa Magar, He Pingping, the current world’s shortest man died on the weekend at the age of 21.
Our heartfelt condolence to the soul of Pingping and his family!
The Guinness verification team gave a temporary registration to Khagendra and he will be officially registered as the shortest man of the world in Guinness World Records after six months when he turns 18. It is not clear whether somebody else will be the shortest person in the mean time, until Khagendra will officially take over.
He Pingping was only 500 gm at birth and stopped growing from just over two feet five inches (75 centimetres) at the age of 18. As he was so small, his parents named him Pingping, meaning ‘wine bottle’. The Chinese man was named the shortest person in March 2008.
While filming a television program in Italy Pingping was taken to hospital for chest pains. After being in lime light for 2 years, he died at the hospital in Rome on Saturday March 13, 2010.
