UPDATE (below)- CPN-Maoist letter raises question – whose government is it?

Another ‘Can Only Happen in Nepal’ – the defense minister of Nepal, a member of MJF-Gachhedar party, had talked about the possibility of 22 Terai districts wanting to separate from Nepal. The Defense Minister, Sarat Singh Bhandari’s statement indicated that he might participate in the separatist movement. Read more in Katnipur.

In protest against the minister’s statement, various protests are being organized in social media like Facebook and Twitter.

The official view of the government led by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is yet to be made public.

UPDATE (Yes, it can only happen in Nepal!):

The official press release from the ruling party, Unified Communitst Party (Maoist) is even more surprising. The letter has asked the ‘Government’ to release its view and force the Defense minister to resign, among others.

Signed by Ram B. Thapa (Badal) and Mohan Vaidya (Kiran), the letter has also questioned the agreement between Bhandari’s party, MJF-Gachhedar, and the party they represent, UCPN (Maoist).
