Talking on the event of announcement of the festival on Sunday, Nepali actress Namrata Shrestha talked about the importance and challenges of short films. Namrata had acted in a movie on HIV Aids a couple of years back. She told that short films need to present the story in a very short time and hence can only be made by creative people.
On the first day of the festival movies like Wings of Desire, Another Beginning, In Between Us, From Shantifuf to Shantifuf, Burning Paradise, The Street of Two Birds, and Farmer will be featured. The organizers plan screen Nepali short films back in Thailand and they expect to continue this process of exchanging films and festivals in the future.
The event, inaugurated by the Thai Ambassador to Nepal, was organized by Independent Film Society (IFS) in association with in association with the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), and Film Development Board Nepal (FDBN). (Photo credit – Nagarik and Nepalnews)
