The movie directed by Simosh Sunuwar is made on the story of Pradeep Bhardwoj. The movie features Saugat Malla with Benisha Hamal in leading roles. Other artists in the movie include Sumi Moktan, Astal Gurung etc.

The movie produced by Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula is directed by Deepa. The movie is running in some theatres in Kathmandu. The 51-days celebration party was held at City Centre. Comedy actor Hari Bansha Acharya cut the cake to congratulate the production team. Currently the whole team is working in MaHa’s upcoming movie ‘Shatru Gate’.
The writer and producer, Deepak Raj Giri, admitted that there were some mistake. But, he was happy that people have liked the movie despite of the mistakes. He promised to produce more successful movies in the future. The director, Deepa Shree Niraula, also promised to improve her shortcomings in future projects.
The hottest and the most sellable actress of the Nepali film industry, Samragyee RL Shah, is going to be featured with two of the hottest sensations, Pradeep Khadka and Aryan Sigdel in her upcoming movie. After the success of her debut movie with Anmol KC, Samragyee’s second movie ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ was also a hit. She also became the highest paid actress overnight. While a new movie ‘Timi Sanga’ is yet to release and the shooting of ‘Intu Mintu Londonma’ had halted because of the visa issue, she has signed up some more new movies.
Samragyee in Aryan Sigdel’s Kayara
In one of the upcoming movie of Samragyee, she is going to be featured opposite to Aryan Sigdel. During the announcement of his movie produced in association with Subas Giri, Aryan had announced that he won’t be working in movie out of his own production house. He had set a condition that his home production banner should be associated with all the movies he worked. But, after huge success of ‘Classic’, Aryan didn’t have any films in a year. After ‘Parva’ he was planning to work in a movie named ‘Marina’. But, when the movie delayed, he signed up Rekha Thapa’s ‘Rudrapriya’. The movie was released recently but, it failed to impress the viewers.
At the time when the shooting of ‘Intu Mintu Londonma’ has been halted for a long time because of the visa rejection of Samragyee RL Shah, another film lost an actress because of visa rejection. After the actress of ‘Lily Bily’ Rebika Gurung’s visa application by the UK embassy, she has left the team. Actress Priyanka Karki has reportedly taken her place in the movie.
At the time when Rebika’s visa was rejected, Priyanka is in UK for the premier show of ‘Happy Days’. In response to her replacement, Rebika has written that, she has willingly left the team so that the shooting is not further delayed because of visa rejection and problem with her health.
Artists Visa Rejection
A lot of Nepali artists don’t return from their foreign visit. The trend of overstaying in western countries have created a very impression of Nepali artists that many of them get rejected. The failure to convince that they will return back to Nepal after the completion of the task had caused the majority of such rejections.
It is a myth that multiple film releases on the same day hurt the producer. I reached to the conclusion after a bit of research on the history of such releases in the past.
After I wrote the news about the two new and highly awaited movies – Anmol KC’s ‘Kri’ and Shweta Khadka’s ‘Kanchhi’ releasing on the same day for the Valentine Day of 2018, I thought about the benefits and loss to the producers by such releases. Apart from my personal analysis the research on the history of film releases also supported the notion that – good films are successful no matter how many films release on that day. Bad films don’t get any viewers even if they get solo-release slots.
Before I go deep in case studies, here is a video report on the issue:
Nisha Adhikari’s upcoming movie team have started a competition – the most interesting photo of a female carrying a male is going to win Rs. 51,000. For that Nisha had carried her husband Sharad Veshwakar and shared the photo in Facebook. To support Nisha, two other actresses have also done the same.
Neeta Dhungana shared a photo of herself carrying director Shyam Bhattarai in the USA. Neeta is currently in the USA where she went to participate in a film award ceremony.
UPDATE – Watch Full movie here.

Now, I am waiting for the official upload to share with you.

One of the leading actors of the movie, Saugat Malla, says that it is a very sad incident and such action should be stopped.
Wilson Bikram Rai says that the internet has helped us in a lot of ways and it has also helped the pirates to damages the producers. He says people not to abuse internet and distribute movies online.

On November 10, 2017 four new Nepali movies have released in theatre. It is a very competitive release for some of the highly expected movies in the film industry. All single word named movies – ‘Meela’, ‘Tyandro’, ‘Sakash’ and ‘Romeo’ will sustain a damage because of the competition among each other. In terms of the star cast, none of the movie should be missed. ‘Mela’ has Salon Basnet, Amesh Bhandari and Ashishma Nakarmi; ‘Romeo’ has Oshima Banu, Nisha Adhikari and Melina Manandhar to watch for; ‘Tyandro’ features Dayahang Rai and is directed by Samten Bhutiya; ‘Sakash’ has Sushma Karki and Mahima Silwal with Wilson Bikram Rai.

The release date of upcoming movie of Anmol KC ‘Kri’ has been finalized for Magh 26 (February 9). The date is the same date in which, Shweta Khadka’s comeback movie ‘Kanchhi’ was previously finalized. It these two movies are released in the same day, it would be a huge clash for them as both of them are the most awaited movies of the current time.
I had prepared a video report of Shweta’s movie ‘Kanchhi’ yesterday about how the song of the movie is setting record viewership.
The release date of ‘Kri’ was was announced by the producer Subash Giri in Facebook after the completion of the shooting of the movie in Pokhara.
Two new Nepali movies has released in theatre on Friday, November 3, 2017. One is an awaited movie featuring well known actors, ‘Fateko Jutta’ and another is never-heard-of film, ‘Dhanwan’. In addition to new movies, the last week’s release, ‘Aishwarya’ is also running strong in theatre.
About ‘Fateko Jutta’
The movie is considered one of the most awaited movies of the year because of the star cast and a successful song. The trailer and the song titled ‘I am sorry..’ were well received by the audience. The movie produced by the producer of ‘Chapali Height’ sequels, Arjun Kumar, is directed by Nikesh Khadka. The movie features Saugat Malla, Priyanka Karki, Kemshwor Chaurasiya, Anoj Pandey etc. in main role. Actor Dayahang Rai is featured in a cameo role. Daya’s role was kept a secret by the film makers. They released a poster featuring Dayahang in a Goddess’ role.
This is a huge moment for actress Shweta Khadka. After a long depression, the actress has made a comeback in the film industry as an actress and a producer of her upcoming movie ‘Kanchhi’. The first song of the movie released today shows a lot of potential. In an event held in Kathmandu on November 2, the song made on a folk tune – ‘Chari Chatta Pari…’ of the movie was released. The song made on the lyrics and the music of Rajanraj Siwakoti features Rajan Raj with Anju Panta’s voice.
The song features the choreography of Basanta Shrestha and features Shweta Khadka with Dayahang Rai and Prajjwal Sujal Giri. ‘Kanchhi’ is shot in locations like Mustang, Upper Mustang, Jomsom and Kathmandu.
Priyanka Karki’s next movie ‘Fateko Jutta’ is releasing this week. But, instead of promoting the movie she has gone to India to be with her boyfriend.
There are a few facts about Nepali film artists and the films before I enter into topic:
- Every artists wants their film to succeed.
- Most of the artists are paid to act/work in the film.
- Every artists set aside time for the shooting according to scheduled.
But, when it comes to promotion:
- Some artists don’t set aside any time for the promotion and have schedule clashes.
- Some make lame excuses of being busy or sick.
- Some don’t respond to producers’ phone and invitation to promotional events.
Why what that? I think, there are at least two reasons the artists are not eager to go in the promotion of the movie. One – they are convinced that the movie will be successful and two – they are not paid for the time they spend for the promotion.
Actress Reecha Sharma has produced her second movie titled ‘Sunakesari’ despite the failure of her first one. Richa’s production debut ‘Aadha Love’ was a disaster. In her second movie, Richa has diverted her focus – first was love-themed movie and the second is a horror-themed movie.
The theme of her second movie is scary in itself because, no Nepali movie in that theme has ever succeeded in attracting Nepali viewers to theatre. At the time when all scary Nepali movies have failed, Reecha is believed to have taken a huge risk with the Arpan Thapa directed movie.
The movie ‘Sunkeshra’ is mostly shot in an ancient castle in Australia, built in 1888. Reecha says that the movie will excite and entertain Nepali viewers by providing a rare and exciting experience. The poster says it all :
Whether the movie becomes a success or not, it sure is a new experiment and will add a brick in the development of the Nepali film industry and offers a new taste for the Nepali film viewers.
This week, on the occassion of the popular festival of Terai, Chhat, new Nepali movie ‘Aishwarya’ is releasing in theatre (on October 27, 2017). The movie presented by a well known actor of the past, Ramesh Upreti is produced by Arjun Shrestha and Kiran Rana Upreti. The actor Nirmal Sharma ‘Gaida’ is also the executive producer of the movie. The movie directed by Deewakar Bhattarai features the cinematography of Sudip Baral, music by Arjun Pokharel and choregoraphty of Tenju Yonjan.
In the beginning only Deepika Prasain and Ramesh Upreti were told to be the leading artists of the movie. Later, the fact that Keki is also in the movie was revealed.
Watch the trailer of the movie.
Another actress has announced a movie, Keki Adhikari. In a program held in Kathmanu on October 23, 2017 actress Keki Adhikari formally announced a new movie titled ‘Kohalpur Express’. The actress who debuted in Nepali film industry in ‘Swor’, was better known as a music video model before that. The movie is being directed by a music video director, Bishal Bhandari. The movie is made under Keki’s home production house Junkiri Arts.
The movie going to the floor on Kartik 13 will feature Keki in the leading role. The movie is being made on the story of Shan Basnayt, cinematography of Arjun Tiwari, editing of Lokesh Bajracharya, and choreography of Gambhir Bista. The movie is about three young girls played by Keki, Priyanka and Richa. Richa wasn’t present in the event because of her health.
Producer actresses in Nepali film industry
Almost all the successful actresses in the Nepali film industry try their luck by producing movies. But, only a few had been successful. When talking about successful producers who are also actresses of the Nepali movies – only a couple of names comes in my mind – Rekha Thapa and Deepa Shree Niraula. Another actress, Jharana Thapa, can also be named one but, her husband is the real producer of her movies. Rekha has been a producer of some of her recent movies although she started under her ex-husband, Chhabi Raj Ojha. Although her success rate has declined in recent years, she is the only successful actress/producer of the Nepali film industry.
