Shortest artist in Nepal, Dipen Shah, has died on November 16, 2017 at the age of 19. He was admitted to the hospital after he had fever. According to the family sources, both of his kidneys had failed and he had also problem in his heart.

Born in 2055 in Bhimeshwor Municipality in Dolkha, Dipen had acted in a number of television serials. ‘Jhayaikuti Jhayai’ and ‘Chheu Na Tuppo’ were two of his most popular serials. In addition to TV serials, he had also acted Nepali movies. After debuting in ‘Sarathi’ he had also acted in ‘Joker’.

The 31-inches tall Dipen was considered the shortest among the actors in Nepal and was studying in grade 10 at Danfe School in Lalitpur.

For the last goodbye, his body is being kept at the Pragya Pratisthan today and the last rituals of the body is scheduled to be one in Pashupati Aryaghat in the evening.

It is a sad incident that a talented artist has died in such a young age. I wish Dipen Shahi’s soul rest in peace and his family members get the courage to deal with the loss.
