The legendary producer, director and script writer of Hindi movies, Yash Chopra has died on Sunday in Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai. The death was a shocking news as he had recently celebrated his 80th birthday in full vigor. He was diagnosed with Dengue and was admitted to the hospital on October 13, 2012.
Yash is considered one of the most successful filmmaker in Bollywood. He had won six National Film Awards, eleven Filmfare awards, Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2001 and Padma Bhushan Award in 2005. Although he had worked as assistant director previously, he debuted as a director in 1959 with a
Hindi movie ‘Dhool Ka Phool’. The movie was successful and his next movie ‘Dharmaputra’ released in 1961, was also very successful, establishing him in the industry. Yash started producing movies through his production company, Yash Raj Films, in 1973.
Yash is known for his successful movies like Trishul, Daag, Silsila, Deewar, Lahme, Chandani, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Aaina and others. Yash’s last movie, ‘Jab Tak Hei Jaan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan,Katrina and Anushka; is going to be released in coming Deepawali.
