I have also updated the Top 10 video. Rest of the text is borrowed from the 2018 version of this post. Happy Dashain 2019 to you.

Dashain is just around the corner and I am already in Dashain mood. I have started listening to Dashain songs whenever I can. I have also made a playlist of 10 Dashain songs for myself. Then, I thought it would be a good idea if I share the list to others who might be looking to listen to Dashain songs.

I have prepared a video report on my selection of songs – broadly categorized in three parts:

1. Feel Good Dashain songs
2. Dashain problem songs
3. Sad Dashain songs

Watch the video report before I list all the 10 songs:

Feel Good Dashain Songs

These are the songs I listen to mostly. They are fun filled and entertaining. They talk about how great Dashain is and how we should enjoy our time. The fun filled songs include that from the movie ‘Muglan’. The song tiled ‘Dashain Aayo’ is feel-good song:

Next great song is that of Sugam Pokharel. The song is titled ‘Dashain Tihar’ song: (removed)

Another useful and feel-good music is that of Malashree Dhun. Although there are different varieties of the dhun the one that is very popular is played by Sur Sudha. One by Kutumba is also good to listen to.

Then there are songs that highlight different aspects of Dashain Festival. The song by Swor Samrat – Narayan Gopal is about social gathering and meeting during the festival. In Dashain people go to their original home to meet all the relatives and friends.

Dashain Problem Songs

Dashain is is usually linked with Dasha by those who can’t afford the extra expenditure they need to do during the festival. Poor people are usually tensed during the festival. The song by Yogeshowr Amatya is a true representation of those people:

Sad Dashain Songs

Sad songs are made on the issues of not being able to go home. Those working in police and army don’t get the vacation to go home. Others working abroad might not get the time off to visit their families.

One of the saddest Dashain songs ever is:

Namuchhe Aama Dahimaa ma Tika

The song was written by a Gurkha army in Indian army. He had also participated in Kargil War in 1999.
