The Film Artists Association of Nepal (FAAN) has honoured some artists and journalists in the Nepali film industry in its 15th annual general meeting held on March 13, 2017. Although the prime minister Puspa Kamal Dahal, Prachanda was supposed to be the the chief guest of the event, he couldn’t make it and a minister distributed the award instead.

On the annual general meeting of the Film Artists Association of Nepal (FIA) actress Barsha Raut was given a honorary certificate for her contribution to the Nepali film industry. In the certificate she is praised for lively acting and establishing herself as a good actress in the industry in a short time. The certificate titled “Nepal Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh New Artist Certificate of Encouragement – 2073” was awarded to Barsha on Falgun 30, 2017.

• Laxmi Giri – awarded “Kalakar Sangh Puraskar 2073”
• Puran Joshi – was awarded “Shanti Maskey Award”
• Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire – “Chalchitra Kalakar Sangh Bishesh Samman”
• Saugat Bista awarded “Chalchitra Kalakar Sangh Bishesh Samman”
• Prakash Subedi was awarded “Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh Patrakarita Samman”
• Ashokpyasi Rai was awarded “Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh Patrakarita Samman”
• Bishnu Subedi was awarded “Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh Patrakarita Samman”
• Sanukumar Tamrakar was awarded “Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh Sewa Samman”
• Sunil Katuwal was awarded “Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh Sewa Samman”
• Barsha Raut - “Chalachitra Kalakar Sangh Nawaprativa Protshan Samman”

Laxmi Giri is one of the best character actresses in the film industry. Comedy artists Sitaram Kattel and Kunjana Ghimire are well known for their social works. Director Saugat Bista is the record breaking youngest film director in the world.

Prakash Subedi, Ashokpyasi Rai and Bishnu Subedi are the film journalists in Nepal. Sanu Kumar Tamrakar is the vice president and Sunil Katuwal is the vice treasurer of the organization.

The actress Barsha Raut is a new entry in the film industry. But, she has already been featured in three most successful movies of the current time. She debuted in ‘Nai Nabhannu La 4’. The debut movie was successful movies. Her second movie, ‘Chhaka Panja’ is the record breaking movie. Barsha’s third movie was also very successful – ‘Jatra’. The beautiful actress has been very lucky to make hat trick in hit movies.
