Nepali movie ‘Dying Candle’ has won an award at the sixth Queens World Film Festival, held in New York, USA. The movie was awarded Best Cinematography in a Feature award in the award ceremony held on March 19, 2016. The cinematographers of the movie were Rabin Acharya and Dipankar Sikder. Sikder is an Indian cinematographer.
The movie directed by Naresh Kumar KC, ‘Dying Candle’ was nominated in three categories including Best Actress In a Feature Award, Best Feature Narrative Award and Best Cinematography Award.

The comedy actress Deepa Shree Niraula has debuted as a film director in an upcoming movie ‘Chhakka Panja’. In the comedy movie, Deepa won’t be seen on screen and will only be the director. The actors in the movie include Deepak Raj Giri, Kedar Ghimire, Jitu Nepal, Priyanka Karki, Barsha Raut, Buddhi Tamang, and Namrata Sapkota in main roles.
The shooting of the movie was inaugurated in an event held at Surya Vinayak temple in Bhaktapur on March 21. The shooting is expected to finish in a month. The movie is produced by the team that produced the previous hit movies ‘Chha Ekan Chha’ and ‘Woda Number Chha’. Although the main producers are Deepak, Deepa and Nirmal Sharma (Gaida) all the other main actors will also have certain amount of share in the movie.
