Actress Swastima Khadka is featured in the role of a driver in her upcoming movie ‘Bulbul’. Because of the shooting schedule of the movie and the time she had to dedicate to learn driving tempo in the streets of Kathamndu, Swastama didn’t participate in the promotion of her movie like ‘Nai Nabhannu La 5’, ‘Jaya Bhole’ and ‘Chhakka Panja 3’.
Now, the shooting of the film is complete. According to the director of the film Binod Poudel, the only remaining part is a song of the film.
It is not the first time an actress is featured as a tempo driver in a movie. Actress Rekha Thapa was featured as a tempo driver based on a real-life character in her movie ‘Ram Pyari’. (Watch the film ‘Rampyari’ here). The movie was a failure.
Will Swastima’s film different? May be! But, we need to wait a while to know for sure. The movie will release on Feburary 14, 2019.
The movie features Laxmi Bardewa, Buddhi Tamang, Mukun Bhusal, Ujjwal Adhikari, Deepak Chhetri, Joyas Pandey, Ashika Pandey and other artists. The story of the film is written by the director Binod Poudel and the cinematographer is Sushan Prajapati. The film features songs in music of Koshish Chhetri and Uddam Pariyar. Singers are Rajina Rimal and Nischal Basnet.
The movie is jointly produced by Purushottam Pandey, Abiral Thapa, Bhim Thapa and Raju Poudel.
For the success of a movie, the character is not an important gauze. It is the script that can bind the viewers to watch the whole movie. Does ‘Bulbul’ have all of those characteristics? Only time will tell for sure. Till then, all the best to the producers and technicians.
Swastima debuted in the Nepali film industry in ‘Hostel Returns’. Right after the release of the film, Swastima got engaged to ‘Loot’ director Nischal Basnet. In February 2016, Swastima and Nischal got married. After the marriage, Swastima wasn’t heard of much until the song from ‘2 Rupaya’, ‘Kutu Ma Kutu’ was released online. The song has made a record of being the most watched Nepali video in YouTube.
