On the 13th day of earthquake, the Nepali film artists gathered in Pragya Pratisthan to remember almost eight thousand dead in the biggest earthquake in 80 years. In the event film artists, music artists and theater artists were present to light candles.

According to Nepal Police, as of May 7, the earthquake had killed 7767 people and left 15,911 people injured. Many more are still missing.

After lighting the candles, the artists had stayed silent for a minute to offer condolence to the dead and wish speedy recovery of the injured. Most of the film artists including actresses Rekha Thapa, Karishma Manandhar, Jharana Thapa, Sanchita Luitel, Deepa Shree Niraula, Komal Oli, Pooja Sharma, Mithila Sharma, Namrata Shrestha, Keki Adhikari, Niruta Singh, Melina Manandhar were present in the ceremony.
