2018 Laxmi Puja Rangoli and Laxmi worship of Nepali actresses, Diwali celebration

Like every years the Nepali celebrities worshiped goddess Laxmi, the goddess of wealth on the third day of Tihar.

Laxmi Puja of actress Neeta Dhungana:

The main attraction of the celebration is preparing beautiful rangoli and cooking good foods. Rangoli is the art imported from India. It is similar to our own Mandala art. Nepali celebrities make good rangoli and share them in their social media. I have collected some photos of the actresses showing their talent.

Some actresses made sel roti, a special delicacy of Tihar festival. The sweet bread made out of rice flour is quite popular in the festival. Here is a video report about how actresses learn the skill to make the bread:

It might sound like a puzzle, but it is not:

Nikhil Upreti has three children. But his wife, Sanchita Luitel has only two children. Who is the third?

Well, Nikhil has two wives. Although he is still married to both of them, he is seen mostly with Sanchita and his children with her. The eldest son, from his first wife, seem to be left out. I made this conclusion based on the review of the Facebook profiles of Sanchita Luitel and Kopila Upreti. While Sanchita is sharing photos of Nikhil with his children in her profile, Kopila doesn’t share photos of Nikhil with his son. As Nikhil doesn’t have a Facebook account, his wives are the sources of his information.

The first look trailer of upcoming movie ‘Leela’ is released in YouTube recently. The trailer of the ex-Miss Nepal, Malina Joshi starrer movie is liked by the viewers. Directed by Ramesh Koirala, the movie is shot in various locations in East Nepal and parts of India including Sikkim and Darjeeling. In addition to Malina, the movie also features Sanchita Luitel, Raj Katuwal and Dhurba Koirala in main roles.

Nikhil Upreti sister-in-law Shiwani Luitel to debut in Commitment 60 Hours

In the second directional venture of action star Nikhil Upreti, he is going to introduce a new actress. Shiwani Luitel, the sister of his wife, Sanchita Liutel, is going to romance with Nikhil in the movie. The movie titled ‘Commitment 60 Hours’ is going to feature Bollywood actors and is made on a story of bringing a girl from India to Nepal in a time span of 60 hours. The movie to be shot in Nepal, India, Thailand, Singapore and USA is expected to be made in a huge budget.

Nikhil running away from Kopila

Actor Nikhil Upreti is apparently running away from his first wife Kopila Upreti. When Nikhil Upreti’s first wife, Kopila Upreti showed up unannounced during the announcement of Nikhil’s next movie ‘Commitment 60 hours’, he was really shocked. While Kopila wanted have a talk with him, Nikhil wasn’t in the mood to meet her. He asked his assistants to shoo her away.

Kopila wasn’t event allowed into the program. By the way she was being treated, it was clear that Nikhil and Kopila are not having a good time these days.

A few days ago, Nikhil had celebrated birthday at the maternal home of his second wife, Sanchita Luitel and their children.

It is not only in the Nepali movie industry, divorce among Nepali couple has been in the increasing trend these days. This might be because, compromising is not in the cards of today’s youth. I think, there is nothing wrong to get out of the relationship that is not working out. But, divorce also brings a lot of pain and problems to the both the couple involved. The traditional Nepali society has made it even worse by tagging them ‘bad example’ to the society.

This post was originally written on Jan 29, 2012. In the mean time I had updated it to reflect the changes in the status of Nepali artists. I think, it is the time to rewrite the whole post.

2016 – Rekha Thapa and Chhabi Raj Ojha have officially divorced after 4 years of unofficial divorce after a decade of living together. They signed the legal paper and make it legal in August of 2016. Right after the divorce, Chhabi has told that he is planning to get married for the fourth time. Will he marry the actress Shilpa Pokharel or is he using the controversy only to promote his movie – that is a huge mystery of the Nepali movie industry.

While shooting and post-production of ‘Himmatwali’ Rekha is having an affair with Sudarshan Gautam. But, right after the release of the movie, Rekha reportedly dumped Sudarshan.
